%20usually%20prepare%20an%20elaborate%20lunch%20mostly%20consisting%20of%20many%20varieties%20of%20seafood%20or%20non-vegetarian%20dishes%20and%20also%20some%20vegetarian%20dishes%20for%20my%20hubby.%20It%20is%20fun%20when%20we%20talk%20all%20sorts%20of%20stories,%20sharing%20laughter,%20and%20cook%20together.%20In%20US,%20I%20prepare%20them%20rarely%20since%20I%20cook%20only%20for%20me%20and%20mostly%20I%20go%20for%20something%20quick%20and%20easy%20when%20preparing%20nonveg.%20Recently%20an%20Giada%20De%20Laurentis%20(I%20just%20love%20the%20way%20she%20talks%20and%20cooks%E2%80%A6everything%20about%20her%20is%20very%20bright!)%20show%20got%20my%20attention%20where%20she%20prepared%20baked%20fish%20sticks%20with%20salmon.%20I%20think%20she%20even%20added%20some%20parmesan%20cheese.%20I%20wanted%20to%20try%20that%20for%20quite%20sometime,%20so%20I%20came%20up%20with%20my%20own%20fish%20sticks%20version%20here.%20Here%20I%20used%20salmon%20instead%20of%20the%20regular%20king%20fish%20used%20in%20India.%20I%20have%20followed%20my%20co-sister%E2%80%99s%20recipe%20here%20except%20that%20I%20have%20also%20substituted%20half%20of%20the%20bread%20crumbs%20with%20oats%20flour%20and%20threw%20in%20some%20dried%20herbs%20and%20seasonings%20into%20the%20bread%20crumbs.%20Again%20crazy-me%20went%20ahead%20and%20baked%20half%20of%20the%20fish%20sticks%20and%20shallow-fried%20the%20remaining%20half.%20Both%20the%20versions%20were%20good,%20though%20the%20baked%20fish%20took%20a%20little%20bit%20longer%20to%20crisp%20and%20they%20were%20not%20as%20brown%20as%20the%20fried%20one%20though%20the%20taste%20of%20both%20versions%20were%20similar.%20The%20fish%20sticks%20included%20in%20this%20post%20are%20the%20baked%20ones.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EINGREDIENTS:%201.%20Fish%20fingers,%20around%2010.%20I%20cut%20from%203%20medium-size%20salmon%20fillets.%202.%20Chili%20powder,%201%20teaspoon.%203.%20Turmeric%20powder,%20%C2%BD%20teaspoon.%204.%20Corn%20flour,%20%C2%BC%20cup.%205.%20Ground%20oats,%20%C2%BD%20cup.%206.%20Bread%20crumbs,%20%C2%BD%20cup.%207.%20Any%20type%20of%20seasoning%20mixture%20like%20Italian%20and%20any%20fish%20seasoning,%201/2%20tablespoon.%208.%20Any%20mixture%20of%20dried%20herbs,%201%20teaspoon.%209.%20Ginger-garlic%20paste,%201%20teaspoon.%2010.%20Salt%20as%20per%20taste.%20PREPARATION:%20Clean%20the%20fish%20and%20cut%20into%20even%20thin%20fingers.%20Add%20the%20chili%20powder,%20turmeric%20powder,%20and%20salt%20and%20let%20them%20marinade%20for%20around%20half%20an%20hour.%20Mix%20the%20seasonings,%20dried%20herbs,%20salt,%20bread%20crumbs,%20and%20oats%20flour%20in%20a%20plate.%20Take%20the%20corn%20flour%20in%20a%20bowl,%20add%20a%20pinch%20of%20salt%20and%20some%20water,%20and%20mix%20it%20into%20a%20smooth%20paste.%20To%20fry%20the%20fish,%20heat%20a%20shallow%20pan%20with%20around%20%C2%BD%20cup%20of%20oil.%20Take%20the%20fish%20fingers%20and%20dip%20them%20into%20the%20corn%20flour%20batter.%20Then%20coat%20them%20with%20the%20bread%20crumbs%20mixtures%20and%20shallow%20fry%20the%20fish%20until%20they%20turn%20golden%20brown%20on%20each%20side.%20Cooking%20around%204-5%20fish%20fingers%20at%20a%20time%20is%20ideal.%20To%20cook%20the%20fish%20in%20the%20oven,%20arrange%20the%20fish%20fingers%20on%20a%20greased%20baking%20sheet%20leaving%20sufficient%20space%20in%20between%20and%20bake%20them%20at%20350%20degrees%20for%2020-25%20minutes.%20Serve%20hot%20finger%20fish%20with%20your%20favorite%20sauce.%20Variation:%20For%20a%20much%20spicier%20version,%20a%20teaspoon%20of%20chili%20powder%20can%20be%20added%20in%20the%20corn%20flour%20batter.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
