%20%20So,%20we%20waited%20until%20weather%20permitted%20to%20unleash%20the%20hubby%20grill%20master!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFor%20our%20first%20official%20barbecue%20I%20marinaded%20some%20shrimp..simple%20stuff.%20%20Something%20I've%20been%20wanting%20to%20attempt%20is%20barbecued%20oysters...yum!%20%20On%20a%20trip%20to%20San%20Juan%20Island%20there%20was%20a%20restaurant%20on%20the%20oceanfront%20as%20we%20disembarked%20the%20ferry.%20%20The%20%20giant%20barbecues%20set%20up%20on%20the%20sidewalk%20at%20the%20entrance%20were%20covered%20with%20rows%20%20of%20fresh%20salmon%20and%20oysters.%20%20We%20were%20hooked!%20%20Now,%20I've%20never%20been%20fond%20of%20oysters,%20but%20I%20remember%20these%20to%20be%20different%20from%20the%20kind%20you%20send%20%20raw%20down%20your%20throat%20as%20fast%20as%20you%20can%20without%20choking%20to%20avoid%20(sorry)%20the%20snotty%20slimy%20texture.%20%20Even%20if%20you%20don't%20care%20for%20oysters...that%20may%20change%20after%20you've%20tried%20these!%20%20The%20only%20problem%20was%20that%20I%20only%20bought%204%20to%20sample!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBarbecued%20Oysters%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20is%20obviously%20a%20sampling.%20%20If%20you%20dare%20to%20make%20more%20you'll%20need%20to%20increase%20the%20measurements.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E4%20cleaned%20oysters%20(Have%20a%20sharp%20paring%20knife,%20tongs,%20potholder%20and%20plate%20handy.)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFor%20the%20sauce:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20a%20small%20saucepan%20heat%202%20Tablespoons%20of%20butter,%201/4%20cup%20of%20Thai%20sweet%20chili%20sauce%20and%201%20tablespoon%20of%20chopped%20fresh%20cilantro.%20%20Heat%20this%20up%20before%20you%20put%20the%20oysters%20on%20the%20grill,%20bring%20outdoors%20with%20a%20basting%20brush.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHeat%20the%20barbecue%20to%20about%20medium.%20%20%20Lay%20the%20whole%20oysters%20flat%20side%20up.%20%20Keep%20on%20for%20about%202%20minutes.%20%20They%20will%20steam%20inside%20and%20barely%20open.%20%20Remove%20from%20the%20grill.%20%20Use%20the%20tongs%20to%20remove,%20the%20knife%20to%20pry%20open%20being%20careful%20not%20to%20let%20the%20juice%20seep%20out.%20%20Use%20the%20potholder%20so%20you%20don't%20burn%20yourself.%20%20This%20is%20an%20easy%20process.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EToss%20the%20empty%20half%20shell%20out.%20%20Place%20the%20oysters%20back%20on%20the%20grill,%20baste%20with%20the%20sauce%20and%20close%20grill%20top.%20%20Continue%20to%20cook%20for%20another%202%20minutes.%20%20Remove%20to%20a%20serving%20dish%20and%20eat%20immediately!%20%20Soooo%20good!%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
