%20living%20in%20the%20produce%20drawer%20in%20the%20fridge.%20%20needless%20to%20say,%20i%20had%20plenty%20of%20fruit%20to%20make%20the%20recipe!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ethe%20filling%20recipe%20is%20a%20little%20different.%20%20the%20apples%20were%20peeled,%20cut%20into%20cubes%20and%20mixed%20with%20the%20other%20ingredients.%20%20this%20mixture%20was%20spread%20out%20on%20a%20pan%20and%20roasted.%20%20two%20things,%20my%20apples%20were%20old%20and%20didn't%20give%20off%20much%20juice%20and%20second,%20i%20forgot%20the%20bread%20crumbs.%20%20neither%20caused%20problems-the%20filling%20mashed%20up%20nicely.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eto%20keep%20it%20simple,%20i%20used%20mini%20pie%20pans%20rather%20than%20tart%20pans.%20%20the%20quarter%20sized%20batch%20of%20pie%20dough%20made%204%20pie%20shells.%20%20i%20prebaked%20them%20all%20and%20froze%20two%20for%20another%20day.%20%20my%20favorite%20baking%20trick%20is%20to%20use%20a%20coffee%20filter%20to%20line%20the%20pie%20shell%20and%20then%20use%20glass%20marbles%20for%20weights.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ethe%20prebaked%20pie%20shells%20were%20filled%20with%20the%20mashed,%20roasted%20apples.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ethe%20pears%20were%20peeled%20and%20sliced%20thin.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ethen%20they%20were%20arranged%20around%20the%20top%20of%20the%20pie,%20brushed%20with%20a%20little%20melted%20coconut%20oil(rather%20than%20butter)%20and%20sprinkled%20with%20sugar.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ehot%20from%20the%20oven,%20mmmmmmm....apple%20pie.%20%20it%20was%20real%20tasty%20with%20some%20vanilla%20ice%20cream!!!%20%20be%20sure%20to%20visit%20the%20tuesdays%20with%20dorie%20page%20to%20see%20how%20the%20rest%20of%20the%20bakers%20made%20out.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
