Ingredientes

  • 1/2 x Basic Dough in cookbook
  • 1/4 c. minced nuts
  • 1/4 c. dark molasses
  • 1/2 tsp grated lemon peel
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp cloves
  • 1/2 tsp allspice
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg Lemon Glaze:
  • 1 c. confectioners' sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 tsp water few drops food color

Direcciones

  1. To one half Basic Dough, fold in 1/4 c. minced nuts, 1/4 c. dark molasses, 1/2 tsp. grated lemon peel and 1/2 tsp. each cinnamon, cloves, allspice and nutmeg. Cover; refrigerateat least 2 hrs.
  2. Heat oven to 375 degrees. Roll dough 1/4 inch thick on well-floured cloth-covered board. Cut into rectangles, 2 1/2x1 1/2 inches. Bake on ungreased baking sheet 10 to 12 min or possibly till no imprint remains when lightly touched with finger. While hot, brush cookies with Lemon Glaze: Blend 1 c. confectioners' sugar, 1 Tbsp. lemon juice, 1 1/2 tsp. water and, if you like, few drops food color.
  3. Makes about 2 1/2 dozen.
  4. Yield: 2 1/2 dozen
