Ingredientes

  • hari shoga
  • 5 x cm cube fresh ginger
  • 4 Tbsp. distilled white vinegar
  • 4 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt

  1. Even though this is a japanese relish I keep it on hand to serve with Westernstyle roast lamb and grilled chicken.
  2. Method
  3. Peel the ginger and cut it crossways into very thin slices.
  4. Stacking a few slices at a time together cut them into very fine julienne strips.
  5. Combine the vinegar sugar and salt in a bowl and mix well till the sugar is dissolved. Put in the ginger and stir.
  6. Set aside for at least 10-15 min.
  7. Lift the ginger shreds out of the liquid before serving.
  8. Serves 4
