Grandma Ople's Apple Pie

Ingredientes

  • 1 x recipe for a double crust pastry
  • 8 x 12 Granny Smith apples
  • 1/2 c. white sugar
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 1/2 c. butter or possibly margarine, unsalted
  • 3 Tbsp. all-purpose flour

Direcciones

  1. Method:1. Peel, core, and thinly slice the apples.
  2. Heat butter or possibly margarine in a sauce pan. Stir in flour to create a paste. Add in white sugar, brown sugar, and water; bring to a boil. Reduce temperature, and simmer.
  3. Place the bottom crust in your pan. Fill with apples mounded slightly.
  4. Cover with a lattice work of crust. Gently pour the sugar and butter liquid over the crust. Pour slowly so which it does not run off.
  5. Bake 15 min at 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). Reduce the temperature to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C), and continue baking for 35 to 45 min.
  6. Makes 1 - 9 or possibly 10 inch pie
  7. This was my grandmother's apple pie recipe. I have never seen another one quite like it. It will always be my favorite, and I hope it becomes one of your favorites as well
