Receta Grandma Ople's Apple Pie

Ingredientes
- 1 x recipe for a double crust pastry
- 8 x 12 Granny Smith apples
- 1/2 c. white sugar
- 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 1/4 c. water
- 1/2 c. butter or possibly margarine, unsalted
- 3 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
Direcciones
- Method:1. Peel, core, and thinly slice the apples.
- 2. Heat butter or possibly margarine in a sauce pan. Stir in flour to create a paste. Add in white sugar, brown sugar, and water; bring to a boil. Reduce temperature, and simmer.
- 3. Place the bottom crust in your pan. Fill with apples mounded slightly.
- Cover with a lattice work of crust. Gently pour the sugar and butter liquid over the crust. Pour slowly so which it does not run off.
- 4. Bake 15 min at 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). Reduce the temperature to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C), and continue baking for 35 to 45 min.
- Makes 1 - 9 or possibly 10 inch pie
- This was my grandmother's apple pie recipe. I have never seen another one quite like it. It will always be my favorite, and I hope it becomes one of your favorites as well
