Receta Grandma Ople's Apple Pie

Ingredientes

  • 1 x recipe for a double crust pastry
  • 8 x 12 Granny Smith apples
  • 1/2 c. white sugar
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 1/2 c. butter or possibly margarine, unsalted
  • 3 Tbsp. all-purpose flour

Direcciones

  1. Method:1. Peel, core, and thinly slice the apples.
  2. 2. Heat butter or possibly margarine in a sauce pan. Stir in flour to create a paste. Add in white sugar, brown sugar, and water; bring to a boil. Reduce temperature, and simmer.
  3. 3. Place the bottom crust in your pan. Fill with apples mounded slightly.
  4. Cover with a lattice work of crust. Gently pour the sugar and butter liquid over the crust. Pour slowly so which it does not run off.
  5. 4. Bake 15 min at 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). Reduce the temperature to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C), and continue baking for 35 to 45 min.
  6. Makes 1 - 9 or possibly 10 inch pie
  7. This was my grandmother's apple pie recipe. I have never seen another one quite like it. It will always be my favorite, and I hope it becomes one of your favorites as well
