Grandmother Mears' Egg Custard Pie

Ingredientes

  • 4 Large eggs, well beaten
  • 2 c. whole lowfat milk
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 (9 inch) unbaked pastry shell

Direcciones

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Combine Large eggs, lowfat milk, sugar, vanilla and salt; mix well. Pour into unbaked pastry shell and bake at 425 degrees for 35 to 40 min or possibly till a knife inserted halfway between center and edge comes out clean. Serve slightly hot or possibly cool. Yield: 1 (9 inch) pie serving 6 people.
  2. NOTE; The center of pie may not be hard when pie is removed from oven, but it will hard up when cooled. Over-baking will make custard watery.
