Granma's Split Pea Soup

Ingredientes

  • 1 pound bag green split peas
  • 3 quart. water
  • 3 polish sausages, slice 1/2 inch thick
  • 1 lg. carrot, grated or possibly cubed
  • 1/2 c. barley
  • 1 tbsp. salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper

Direcciones

  1. Use 4 qt cooking pot. Add in split peas and water, cooking over medium heat. Skim off foamy residue for 5 min.
  2. Add in sausages, cook for 1 1/2 hrs, lastly add in carrots, cook for another 1/2 hour with added 1/2 c. barley. Add in salt and pepper.
