%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20morning%20I%20published%20this%20post%20with%20some%20whinging%20about%20being%20tired%20and%20un-creative.%20When%20I%20typed%20this%20post%20for%20the%20first%20time%20last%20night,%20my%20brain%20was%20beyond%20where%20wit%20and%20articulation%20are%20birthed.%2024%20hours%20later%20I%E2%80%99m%20still%20over-tired,%20but%20I%20don%E2%80%99t%20care.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBecause%20I%E2%80%99ve%20just%20gone%20through%20the%20recipes%20submitted%20by%20this%20Burwell%20General%20Store%20recipe%20swap%20group,%20and%20I%E2%80%99m%20rejuvenated.%20I%20love%20this%20group%20of%20swappers.%20I%E2%80%99ve%20participated%20in%20thist%20monthly%20swap,%20organized%20by%20Christianna%20at%20the%20Burwell%20General%20Store,%20for%20well%20over%20a%20year%20now.%20But%20then%20our%20group%20got%20too%20large,%20so%20we%20split%20in%20two,%20then%20got%20overwhelmed%20with%20our%20own%20lives,%20then%20took%20a%20break,%20then%20joined%20up%20again,%20and%20now%20here%20we%20are!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWe%20all%20write%20blogs%20for%20different%20reasons.%20We%20all%20read%20blogs%20for%20different%20reasons.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBut%20if%20you%E2%80%99re%20looking%20for%20creativity%20and%20all-things-yummy,%20you%E2%80%99ve%20come%20to%20the%20right%20place%20this%20morning.%20Just%20click%20on%20that%20little%20froggy%20below%20to%20see%20variations%20of%20one%20simple,%20very%20old%20recipe%20from%20a%20vintage%20cookbook.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAs%20I%20scrolled%20through%20the%20posts,%20pinning%20and%20commenting%20away,%20I%20met%20new%20blogging%20friends%20and%20reconnected%20with%20old%20ones.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIt%20was%20a%20truly%20delicious%20night.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOh,%20and%20this%20was%20my%20second%20swap%20today!%20Coincidentally%20my%20Milk%20Bar%20Mondays%20recipe%20was%20scheduled%20for%20today%20as%20well,%20and%20when%20that%20Grapefruit%20Pie%20didn%E2%80%99t%20turn%20out%20perfectly%20(one%20layer%20was%20perfection,%20the%20rest%20so%20not-right%20I%20couldn%E2%80%99t%20serve%20it%20to%20my%20boss%20family%20and%20tossed%20it%20in%20the%20trash)%20I%20wanted%20to%20give%20grapefruit%20another%20go.%20Hence%20this%20take%20on%20this%20recipe:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20was%20shocked%20that%20this%20worked!%20I%20just%20replaced%20grapefruit%20for%20the%20lemon%20and%20used%20the%20milk%20my%20boss%20can%20digest,%20and%20let%20some%20basic%20pastry%20knowledge%20lead%20to%20a%20more%20specific%20recipe%20than%20the%20one%20above.%20A%20light,%20spongy,%20fluffy%20layer%20of%20grapefruit-flavored%20custard-ness%20was%20on%20the%20table%20for%20breakfast%20today.%20It%20would%20do%20well%20for%20a%20dessert%20also,%20but%20on%20this%20steamy%20Monday%20with%20a%20house%20full%20of%20guests%20I%E2%80%99m%20cooking%20for%20in%20Amagansett,%20it%20did%20just%20fine.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHappy%20Double%20Monday,%20and%20welcome%20back%20to%20the%20Burwell%20Swappers,%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E-%20Jacqueline%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnd%20click%20on%20the%20little%20froggy%20below%20to%20check%20out%20the%20other%20Burwell%20swappers%20in%20their,%20likely,%20more%20creative%20variations!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPreheat%20oven%20to%20350%C2%B0.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECream%20the%20butter,%20sugar%20and%20egg%20yolks%20until%20smooth%20and%20bright%20yellow.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdd%20the%20flour,%20grapefruit%20juice%20and%20zest,%20and%20beat%20to%20combine.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESlowly%20pour%20in%20milk%20and%20stir%20to%20combine.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20a%20separate%20bowl,%20beat%20egg%20whites%20to%20soft%20peaks.%20Fold%20into%20mixture.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPour%20into%20shell%20and%20bake%20for%2045%20minutes,%20until%20set%20at%20the%20sides%20but%20still%20jiggly%20in%20the%20center.%20Cool%20completely%20before%20serving.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
