Receta Grilled Pork Bánh Mì, South London Style

I’m going to say something controversial here: I’ve often found bánh mì a little disappointing. It’s a sandwich with much potential that’s often a massive let down. I’ve been to Vietnam but only to the North (it’s a Southern thing) and there aren’t too many good ones in London. My favourite is at Bánh Mì Hội-An in Hackney, since you ask, but there’s no way I’m schlepping all the way out there whenever I fancy one. People rate places I don’t, like Kêu (very inconsistent) and Aobaba in Elephant and Castle (truly dismal). Sometimes, the shit ones are satisfying.
