,%20so%20decide%20to%20do%20a%20not%20so%20messy%20icing,%20that%20is,%20a%20fondant.%20%20At%20least%20it's%20like%20playing%20playdough%20for%20the%20kids%20and%20it%20wouldn't%20create%20too%20much%20of%20a%20mess.%20%20Search%20the%20web%20for%20an%20easy%20recipe%20and%20stumble%20upon%20this%20Marshmallow%20Fondant%20from%20allrecipes.com%20%20I%20decided%20to%20give%20it%20a%20try,%20it%20was%20actually%20quite%20easy.%20%20I%20made%202%20colour,%20one%20white%20and%20one%20red%20as%20that's%20our%20Singapore%20Flag's%20colour.%20%20However,%20I%20make%20a%20huge%20mess%20with%20my%20first%20attempt%20as%20I%20was%20too%20eager%20to%20knead%20the%20dough,%20so%20I%20added%20half%20the%20icing%20into%20the%20marshmallow%20and%20started%20kneading%20it,%20it%20was%20a%20sticky%20messy%20and%20it%20took%20me%20almost%20an%20hour%20to%20get%20the%20dough%20into%20the%20correct%20texture.%20%20So%20for%20my%20next%20attempt,%20I%20have%20learnt%20from%20my%20mistake,%20I%20melt%20the%20marshmallow%20with%20a%20little%20water,%20then%20pour%20in%20as%20much%20of%20the%20icing%20as%20I%20can%20until%20I%20form%20a%20really%20stiff%20dough,%20than%20I%20put%20on%20a%20disposable%20gloves,%20coated%20it%20with%20lots%20of%20butter,%20take%20a%20chopping%20board%20and%20put%20it%20with%20lots%20of%20icing,%20then%20took%20out%20the%20entire%20dough%20and%20started%20kneaded%20it.%20%20It%20was%20so%20much%20easier%20this%20time%20round%20and%20I%20manage%20to%20get%20the%20dough%20ready%20in%2015%20minutes....phew....%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20also%20realised%20that%20I%20should%20make%20the%20dough%20in%20small%20portion%20as%20it%20was%20so%20much%20easier%20to%20handle%20since%20I'm%20using%20it%20for%20cupcakes.%20%20Here's%20my%20small%20portion%20recipe:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPut%20marshmallow%20and%20water%20in%20a%20microwavable%20bowl%20and%20microwave%20for%2030sec%20to%20melt%20the%20marshmallow.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EStir%20in%20the%20vanilla%20essence%20and%20food%20colouring%20and%20100g%20of%20icing%20sugar.%20Wait%20for%20a%20while%20and%20let%20the%20mixture%20cool%20down.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPour%20in%20another%20200g%20of%20icing%20sugar%20and%20stir%20until%20you%20form%20a%20very%20stiff%20mixture.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPut%20dough%20in%20a%20flat%20surface,%20preferably%20on%20a%20chopping%20board%20or%20something%20that%20won't%20get%20stained%20by%20the%20food%20colouring,%20that%20have%20been%20generously%20covered%20with%20icing%20sugar.%20Then%20wear%20a%20disposable%20gloves%20and%20apply%20a%20generous%20amount%20of%20butter%20or%20shortening%20on%20the%20gloves.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EStart%20kneading%20the%20dough%20until%20it%20become%20soft%20and%20pialable.%20%20Then%20wrap%20dough%20in%20a%20cling%20wrap%20and%20refrigerate%20overnight%20or%20until%20ready%20to%20use.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETo%20use%20the%20dough,%20take%20it%20out%20of%20the%20refridgerator%20to%20let%20it%20soften%20slightly%20before%20working%20on%20it.%20%20Enjoy!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20is%20how%20the%20end%20result%20looks%20like%20with%20the%20carrot%20cupcakes%20and%20cream%20cheese%20frosting%20that%20I%20made%20in%20my%20next%20post.%20%20The%20fondant%20kinda%20melted%20when%20the%20kids%20was%20working%20on%20it,%20so%20it%20looks%20kinda%20messy%20but%20the%20fondant%20was%20really%20tasty,%20the%20kids%20was%20eating%20it%20while%20decorating%20the%20cakes.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
