%20What%20I'm%20talking%20about%20are%20the%20salads%20that%20begin%20with%20the%20words%20potato%20or%20pasta,%20both%20of%20which%20he%20absolutely%20love,%20so%20for%20a%20long%20time%20I%20didn't%20understand.%20But%20finally%20I%20realized%20why...he%20associates%20something%20with%20both%20of%20these...mayonnaise%20or%20sour%20cream.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAlex%20has%20never%20been%20a%20fan%20of%20either.%20Both%20of%20which%20I%20cook%20with,%20especially%20in%20potato%20and/or%20pasta%20salads,%20a%20lot.%20I%20really%20don't%20remember%20what%20we%20were%20eating%20when%20the%20light%20bulb%20went%20off%20in%20my%20head,%20but%20one%20day%20I%20finally%20realized%20what%20the%20things%20he%20would%20turn%20his%20nose%20up%20at%20had%20in%20common.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI'm%20happy%20to%20report%20though,%20he%20has%20started%20to%20branch%20out%20and%20he%20is%20eating%20more%20and%20more%20sour%20cream.%20One%20reason%20is%20he%20has%20discovered%20that,%20like%20his%20Daddy,%20he%20loves%20spicy%20food,%20and%20in%20some%20things%20the%20sour%20cream%20really%20helps%20to%20relieve%20his%20tongue%20from%20fire.%20Two,%20I%20started%20fibbing%20to%20him%20when%20he%20would%20be%20eating%20dishes%20containing%20it,%20and%20afterwards%20after%20he%20gobbled%20it%20down,%20say%20%22Oh%20by%20the%20way,%20you%20just%20ate%20sour%20cream.%22%20He%20finally%20realized%20that%20in%2099%25%20of%20the%20foods%20I%20make%20with%20sour%20cream,%20he%20can't%20even%20taste%20it.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBut%20mayo%20has%20been%20a%20little%20trickier.%20He%20has%20eaten%20a%20few%20things%20containing%20it,%20but%20it%20hasn't%20been%20as%20easy%20to%20win%20him%20over%20with%20as%20sour%20cream.%20So%20I%20started%20thinking%20about%20making%20a%20couple%20things%20that%20in%20other%20recipes%20contained%20mayo,%20but%20finding%20ones%20that%20didn't.%20In%20this%20case,%20a%20delicious%20pasta%20salad%20that%20contained%20no%20%22creamy%22%20dressing%20whatsoever.%20That%20way,%20he%20couldn't%20even%20question%20if%20I%20were%20trying%20to%20%20trick%20him.%20And%20guess%20what...he%20loved%20it!%20He%20said%20he%20was%20so%20excited%20to%20%22eat%20pasta%20salad%20and%20not%20worry%20about%20mayonnaise.%22%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWith%20the%20graduation%20party,%20wedding%20reception,%20backyard%20barbecue,%20pool%20party%20season%20upon%20us,%20or%20at%20least%20getting%20closer,%20this%20is%20a%20great%20idea%20for%20any%20of%20those.%20Filled%20with%20veggies%20and%20great%20flavor,%20and%20with%20no%20mayo,%20less%20worry%20about%20sitting%20out!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI'm%20glad%20my%20little%20guy%20is%20branching%20out%20and%20starting%20to%20try%20those%20last%20couple%20things%20that%20were%20on%20his%20%22I%20don't%20like%20list%22.%20Little%20does%20he%20know%20I'm%20going%20to%20continue%20to%20slip%20them%20in%20whenever%20and%20wherever%20I%20can...and%20he's%20gonna%20eat%20them%20and%20like%20them!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhile%20pasta%20is%20cooking,%20in%20a%20large%20bowl%20combine%20peas,%20pepper,%20onion,%20cucumber%20and%20tomatoes.%20Toss%20to%20combine.%20In%20a%20medium%20jar%20combine%20oil,%20vinegar,%20sugar,%20Italian%20seasoning,%20chili%20powder,%20seasoned%20salt,%20and%20pepper.%20Shake%20well%20to%20combine.%20When%20pasta%20is%20done%20and%20drained%20well,%20combine%20with%20veggies.%20Toss%20again.%20Pour%20dressing%20over.%20Stir%20well.%20Chill%20at%20least%203%20hours%20before%20serving.%20Garnish%20with%20extra%20Italian%20seasoning.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESalad%20at%20Very%20Good%20Recipes%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPin%20It%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
