Healthy Whole Wheat Waffles

  • 1 1/4 c. Whole wheat flour
  • 1 c. Wheat germ
  • 2 Tbsp. Sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. Baking pwdr
  • 1/2 Tbsp. Grnd nutmeg
  • 1/2 c. Oil (scant)
  • 2 c. Lowfat milk
  • 4 x Egg whites
  • 1/2 c. Lowfat milk chocolate chips - optional


  1. Mix all of above ingredients together well. Mix will be thick. Pour into prepared waffle iron and add in chocolate chips ,if you like, just before baking.
  2. Note: Adding chocolate chips to your batter usually results in the chips dropping to the bottom of the batter. It is preferable to add in them as you prepare each waffle, adding as many as desired.
