Herbed Oatmeal Bread

Ingredientes

  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • 2 c. boiling water
  • 1 c. rolled oats
  • 2 Packages yeast
  • 2 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 c. molasses or possibly honey
  • 6 c. or possibly more white flour
  • Special ingredients

Direcciones

  1. Pour boiling water over oats and let it stand 1/2 hour.
  2. Soak yeast in 1/3 c. hot water - let butter soften.
  3. Add in salt, butter, molasses and special ingredients to oat mix.
  4. Add in yeast, 1/2 at a time, alternating with 2 c. flour.
  5. Knead in remaining flour to make a stiff dough.
  6. Cover, let rise 3/4 hour till dough is doubled. Punch down. Put in two buttered large loaf pans.
  7. Let rise 3/4 hour till doubled.
  8. Bake in cool oven at 325 degrees for 1 hour or possibly till done.
