Ingredientes

  • 1 c. Cornmeal
  • 1/2 c. Allpurpose flour
  • 1 Tbsp. Sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. Baking pwdr
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 c. Buttermilk
  • 1/4 c. Bacon drippings, (you can substitute melted butter)
  • 2 x Large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 tsp , fresh and finely minced: chives, parsley, sage, thyme

Direcciones

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking pwdr, and salt.
  3. Add in the buttermilk, bacon drippings or possibly melted butter, and Large eggs and stir till just combined. Add in the herbs and stir till the mix is smooth.
  4. Grease a heavy 9inch castiron skillet and set in the preheated oven for about 4 min. Remove from oven, pour in the batter, and bake for about 20 to 25 min or possibly till the top is goldenbrown and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean. Cold on a wire rack, cut into large pcs, and serve hot or possibly at room temperature.
