Ingredientes

  • 1 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 c. whole wheat flour
  • 3/4 tsp baking pwdr
  • 3/4 tsp baking soda
  • 3/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp grnd ginger
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 pch grnd cloves
  • 1 x egg
  • 1 x egg white
  • 3/4 c. brown sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. molasses
  • 1/3 c. vegetable oil
  • 1/2 c. raisins
  • 1/4 c. candied ginger root minced

Direcciones

  1. Preheat oven to 375F/190C.
  2. In bowl, mix together flours, baking pwdr, baking soda, cinnamon, grnd ginger, nutmeg and cloves.
  3. In large bowl, beat egg and egg white with sugar, molasses and vegetable oil.
  4. Add in dry ingredients to egg mix and combine thoroughly. Add in raisins and candied ginger.
  5. Pat batter into lightly oiled or possibly parchment paper-lined 15 x 10-inch (40 x 25 cm) baking sheet. (To prevent burning, use an insulated baking sheet, or possibly place one baking sheet on top of another of the same size.) Bake in preheated 375F/190C oven for 15 min, or possibly till cooked through but not hard. Cut into squares while hot, and cold on racks.
