%20and%20a%20Street%20Festival%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBut%20really%20that%20is%20just%20the%20kick%20off%20to%20Saturday,%20the%20Parade%20that%20starts%20at%2010%20am.%20It%20is%20when%20the%20local%20farmers,%20the%20town,%20and%20the%20tourists%20come%20together%20to%20celebrate%20the%20Farmer,%20which%20really%20is%20what%20allows%20Vermont%20to%20thrive.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20year%20the%20Commonwealth%20Dairy,%20is%20combining%20with%20the%20Coombs%20Family%20Farms%20(seventh%20generation%20Vermont%20maple%20syrup%20producers)%20to%20make%20the%20largest%20maple-yogurt%20smoothie,%20along%20with%20local%20cider%20and%20apple%20producers.%20The%20target%20is%20to%20measure%20335%20gallons,%20which%20will%20beat%20the%20current%20record%20of%20264%20gallons,%20that%20was%20set%20in%20Toronto,%20Canada,%20placing%20the%20Commonwealth%20Dairy%20and%20Coombs%20Family%20Farms%20in%20the%20Guinness%20Book%20of%20World%20Records.%20The%20estimation%20is%20200%20gallons%20of%20yogurt,%2015%20gallons%20of%20maple%20syrup,%20200%20pounds%20of%20crushed%20apples%20and%2015%20gallons%20of%20apple%20cider.....HOLY%20COW~and,%20I%20meant%20that%20little%20euphemism!!!!!~%20the%20greatest%20part%20is%20everything%20has%20come%20from%20the%20State%20of%20Vermont.%20Lots%20and%20lots%20of%20people%20have%20worked%20together%20to%20make%20this%20happen,%20and%20big%20shout%20out%20to%20all%20the%20time%20and%20hours%20that%20went%20into%20the%20planning!!!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20festivities%20end%20with%20a%20Royal%20Farmer's%20Breakfast,%20which%20happens,%20just%20down%20the%20street%20from%20me.%20It%20is%20where%20the%20farmer's%20come%20together%20with%20a%20historic%20landmark%20The%20Chelsea%20Royal%20Diner%20(a%20vintage%201938%20Worcester%20Diner,%20with%20the%20long-forgotten%20Blue%20Plate%20Specials,%20healthy%20portions,%20and%20prices%20that%20don't%20drain%20your%20wallet).%20Then%20when%20it%20is%20time%20to%20work%20off%20that%20generous%20breakfast,%20there%20is%20the%20Tour%20de%20Heifer,%20where%20bike%20riders%20from%20all%20over%20New%20England%20are%20invited%20to%20enjoy%20our%20gentle,%20but%20rigorous(hills,%20lots%20of%20them)%20countryside,%20that%20meander%20through%20the%20local%20farms%20and%20food%20producers%20that%20made%20the%20whole%20Parade%20possible.%20The%20routes%20are%20geared%20for%20the%20the%20novice%20and%20the%20serious,%20ranging%20from%206%20miles%20to%2060%20miles.%20If%20you%20are%20not%20into%20rugged%20bike%20climbing%20up%20steep%20mountains%20or%20gradual%20hills,%20there%20is%20the%20Windham%20County%20Area%20Farm,%20Food,%20and%20Fiber%20Tour,%20which%20is%20a%20self%20guided%20tour%20set%20at%20your%20own%20pace,%20exploring%20what%20makes%20Vermont%20so%20rich.%20My%20personal%20favorite%20is%20Elysian%20Farms%20the%20only%20place%20for%20our%20Christmas%20Trees.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20is%20where%20my%20husband%20and%20I%20pick%20out%20our%20Christmas%20tree%20every%20year.%20Thank%20you%20to%20Elysian's%20for%20making%20our%20Christmas's%20so%20special%20each%20year!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ehealthy%20squirt%20pure%20vanilla%20extract%20(if%20you%20want%20to%20get%20Froggy~here%20is%20where%20you%20add%20you%20flavorings,%201/4%20peanut%20butter,%20peppermint,%20raspberry,%20almond~~~it%20is%20your%20pie,%20you%20invent%20it%20)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhip%20the%20softened%20butter%20and%20marshmallow%20fluff%20until%20lightened%20in%20color,%20add%20the%20sifted%20powdered%20sugar%20at%20low%20speed,%20otherwise%20you%20got%20a%20big%20mess,%20and%20way%20more%20clean%20up%20time.%20Mix%20until%20incorporated%20and%20add%20vanilla%20and%20your%20other%20flavorings%20that%20you%20would%20like%20to%20add.%20*Important%20note~if%20you%20want%20a%20chocolate%20filling%20add%201/4%20cup%20melted%20unsweetened%20chocolate%20to%20the%20finale%20product%20slowly%20until%20well%20incorporated.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETake%20you%20whoopie%20cookie%20and%20pipe%20your%20filling,%20top%20with%20another%20cookie%20and%20decorate~have%20fun,%20there%20are%20no%20rules!!!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E%EF%BB%BFThere%20are%20two%20kinds%20of%20people%20in%20the%20world:%20%20those%20who%20love%20chocolate,%20and%20communists.%20%20~Leslie%20Moak%20Murray%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
