%20years%20I've%20been%20giving%20pretty%20much%20the%20same%20thing%20to%20everyone,%20every%20year,%20for%20Christmas.%20One%20glass%20jar%20of%20peach%20jam%20and%20one%20glass%20jar%20of%20my%20hot%20chow-chow.%20This%20is%20the%20year%20I%20finally%20decided%20to%20*change%20things%20up*,%20for%20which%20I'm%20sure%20the%20recipients%20will%20appreciate%20the%20upgrade.%20Anything%20gets%20boring%20after%20monotony,%20right?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAlthough%20I%20hadn't%20planned%20on%20making%20the%20Chow-Chow%20this%20year,%20a%20friend%20dropped%20dozens%20of%20green%20tomatoes%20in%20my%20lap,%20so%20I%20have%20a%20sufficient%20amount%20of%20that%20for%20the%20Christmas%20*goodie%20bag*.%20However,%20I%20didn't%20make%20Peach%20Jam%20this%20year%20so%20I%20decided%20I'd%20make%20Kahlua%20and%20present%20them%20in%20really%20gorgeous%20blue%20glass%20bottles.%20When%20I%20ran%20out%20of%20those%20I%20used%20some%20old%20Grolsch%20beer%20bottles%20that%20I'd%20been%20saving%20for%20just%20this%20project%20(who%20knew?).%20They%20also%20had%20the%20same%20kind%20of%20closures,%20which%20is%20perfect.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20found%20the%20blue%20glass%20bottles%20with%20tops%20on%20line%20at%20Quality%20Wine%20&%20Ale%20Supply%20for%20approximately%20$4.50%20each%20(when%20buying%20a%20case,%20including%20shipping%20costs).%20Of%20course,%20it's%20like%20trying%20solve%20a%20Rubik's%20cube%20puzzle%20getting%20the%20hardware%20on%20the%20bottle%20properly%20but%20I%20did%20eventually%20figure%20it%20out%20(a%20no-brainer%20really%20-%20duh).%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnyhoo,%20here%20is%20the%20easiest%20ever%20recipe%20for%20making%20your%20own%20Kahlua%20at%20home:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EINGREDIENTS:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDirections:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1.%20In%20a%203-4%20quart%20saucepan,%20stir%20sugar%20and%20coffee.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E2.%20Add%20water%20and%20salt,%20heating%20over%20a%20high%20heat%20until%20sugar%20dissolves.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E3.%20Bring%20to%20a%20boil.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E4.%20Reduce%20heat%20and%20boil%20gently%20for%201%20hour.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E5.%20Remove%20from%20heat.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E6.%20Allow%20to%20cool%20for%20at%20least%20an%20hour.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E7.%20Stir%20in%20vodka%20and%20vanilla,%20then%20bottle.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EGive%20to%20friends%20and%20family%20and%20enjoy%20the%20compliments.%20One%20of%20my%20favorites%20ways%20to%20serve%20my%20Kahlua%20to%20guests%20is%20to%20pour%20it%20over%20homemade%20(or%20not)%20vanilla%20ice%20cream...%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
