%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMy%20peppers%20were%20hiding%20under%20some%20weeds.%20%20%20After%20I%20pulled%20the%20weeds%20this%20morning,%20I%20realized%20I%20had%20a%20bounty%20of%20jalapenos,%20Santa%20Fe%20Grande%20yellow%20peppers,%20%20cherry%20peppers,%20and%20some%20pimentos.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWow%E2%80%A6..%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20scored%20a%20deal%20on%20some%204%20oz.%20jelly%20jars%20and%20I%20love%20to%20give%20these%20to%20staff%20for%20holiday%20gifts.%20%20%20%20%20So%20far%20I%20have%20eleven%20of%20these%20little%20jars%20canned%20up%20with%20Orange-Grape%20Jam.%20%20%20%20%20%20As%20of%20this%20evening,%20I%20have%20twenty-seven%20little%20jars%20of%20jalapeno-apricot%20jelly.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnd,%20I%20have%20seven%20half-pints%20of%20this%20experiment.%20%20%20%20%20%20Please%20be%20aware%20that%20this%20is%20truly%20an%20experiment.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOn%20my%20second%20batch%20of%20jalapeno-apricot%20jelly,%20%20I%20started%20dreaming%20of%20margaritas.%20%20%20(I%20think%20the%20heat%20in%20the%20kitchen%20had%20gotten%20to%20me.)%20%20%20%20Anyhoo,%20the%20next%20thing%20you%20know%20I%20decided%20to%20add%20some%20tequila%20to%20the%20final%20batch%20of%20the%20day.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHere%20it%20is:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHot%20Pepper%20Tequila%20Jelly%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESeed%20jalapeno%20peppers%20before%20chopping%20if%20you%20don%E2%80%99t%20want%20a%20lot%20of%20heat%20in%20the%20jelly.%20%20%20I%20placed%20all%20the%20peppers%20in%20the%20food%20processor%20so%20I%20could%20get%20a%20fine%20chop.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPlace%20chopped%20peppers,%20vinegar,%20tequila%20and%20sugar%20in%20a%20large%20kettle.%20%20%20(This%20recipe%20foams%20up%20like%20crazy%20when%20boiling,%20so%20please%20make%20sure%20that%20you%20are%20using%20at%20least%20a%208-quart%20kettle%20or%20you%20will%20have%20a%20mess%20on%20your%20hands.)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBring%20mixture%20to%20a%20boil%20and%20boil%20rapidly%20for%20five%20minutes,%20stirring%20constantly.%20%20%20After%20five%20minutes,%20turn%20off%20heat%20and%20let%20jelly%20stand%20for%202%20minutes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhisk%20in%20pectin%20quickly.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELadle%20quickly%20into%20prepared%20jars%20(hot%20and%20sterilized),%20filling%20to%20within%201/8%20inch%20of%20the%20top.%20%20%20Wipe%20rims%20and%20threads%20of%20jars.%20%20%20Cover%20with%20sterilized%20lids,%20screw%20bands%20tight,%20and%20place%20in%20a%20canner.%20%20%20Water%20bath%20for%2010%20minutes.%20%20%20%20Remove%20and%20let%20cool%20completely.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20used%20one%20green%20bell%20pepper,%20some%20jalapenos,%20some%20Santa%20Fe%20Grande%20peppers,%20and%20some%20pimentos%20in%20this%20mix.%20%20%20Mix%20and%20match%20as%20necessary.%20%20%20%20You%20could%20use%20jalapenos%20and%20a%20red%20and%20yellow%20bell%20pepper%20for%20a%20pretty%20color.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIf%20you%20have%20sensitive%20skin,%20wear%20rubber%20gloves%20while%20preparing%20peppers.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAgain,%20this%20is%20an%20experiment.%20%20%20I%20just%20went%20to%20check%20and%20it%20is%20still%20pretty%20runny%20but%20the%20leftover%20bit%20that%20I%20put%20in%20a%20bowl%20seems%20to%20be%20setting%20up.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIf%20this%20is%20a%20flop,%20I%20will%20post%20a%20retraction.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20hope%20it%20works!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAbby,%20I%20don%E2%80%99t%20have%20a%20flower%20for%20you%20today%20but%20I%20do%20have%20some%20watermelons.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMoon%20and%20Stars%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOur%20Moon%20and%20Stars%20variety%20is%20climbing%20up%20over%20the%20hoop%20house%20and%20we%20have%20a%20few%20hangers.%20%20:)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECan%20you%20see%20the%20yellow%20star%20dots?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELike%20Loading...%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
