%20showed%20me%20his%20plumage%20again%20this%20morning,%20but%20tucked%20his%20feathers%20down%20when%20the%20feed%20hit%20the%20feed%20pan...he%20was%20happy%20for%20some%20milled%20corn%20and%20feed.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EToday%20was%20town%20day.%20%20We%20met%20a%20friend%20early%20in%20the%20morning%20so%20she%20could%20get%20eggs%20from%20us.%20%20She%20lives%20far%20from%20us,%20so%20we%20always%20find%20a%20day%20and%20time%20to%20meet%20when%20we'll%20both%20be%20in%20town.%20%20She%20is%20happy%20to%20have%20the%20eggs%20and%20I%20am%20happy%20to%20have%20the%20top%20shelf%20of%20my%20refrigerator%20empty.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThere%20were%20some%20bargains%20to%20be%20had%20around%20town.%20%20One%20item%20we%20planned%20to%20purchase%20was%20out,%20but%20we%20were%20told%20they%20will%20be%20fully%20stocked%20tomorrow.%20(If%20not,%20I'll%20get%20a%20rain%20check.)%20We%20got%203.5%20oz%20packages%20of%20pepperoni%20for%20.50,%20a%20quart%20of%20chocolate%20soy%20milk%20for%20.09%20along%20with%20some%20gum%20that%20was%20free%20after%20coupons.%20%20We%20liked%20the%20soy%20milk,%20and%20I%20have%20more%20coupons,%20so%20I'll%20get%20some%20more%20tomorrow%20and%20it%20will%20be%20our%20milk%20for%20the%20coming%20week%20or%20so.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWe%20always%20check%20the%20markdown%20corner%20because%20you%20just%20never%20know%20what%20you%20might%20find.%20%20This%20time,%20there%20were%2015oz.%20cans%20of%20black%20eyed%20peas%20seasoned%20with%20bacon%20for%20.29%20each%20and%205oz.%20cans%20of%20StarKist%20tuna%20for%20.29%20as%20well.%20%20I%20asked%20a%20clerk%20(who%20was%20adding%20bakery%20items%20to%20the%20shelf)%20why%20the%20tuna%20was%20there,%20because%20the%20date%20on%20it%20was%20late%202014,%20none%20of%20the%20cans%20were%20dented%20or%20anything,%20and%20I%20was%20curious.%20%20He%20told%20me%20that%20the%20shelf%20in%20the%20aisle%20was%20full,%20and%20these%20did%20not%20fit.%20%20There%20weren't%20enough%20for%20an%20end%20display,%20so%20the%20manager%20had%20them%20marked%20down.%20%20The%20black%20eyed%20peas%20were%20the%20last%20from%20a%20New%20Year%20promotion,%20and%20the%20date%20on%20those%20is%20also%202014.%20%20So%20now%20we%20are%20well-stocked%20on%20both.%20%20%20%20At%20the%20bread%20outlet%20we%20stocked%20bagels,%20thin-slice%20bread%20and%20English%20muffin%20at%20bargains%20prices%20-%20.50%20a%20loaf%20for%20bread,%20.66%20a%20pack%20for%20bagels%20and%201.00%20for%20the%20English%20muffins.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20main%20event%20of%20the%20day%20was%20a%20bowling%20get-together%20with%20friends%20from%20the%20virtual%20school%20that%20DD%20attends.%20%20It%20was%20a%20lot%20of%20fun.%20%20Since%20DD%20was%20the%20only%20girl,%20she%20wanted%20me%20to%20bowl%20too.%20%20She%20bowled%20a%2078,%20and%20I%20bowled%20a%2079,%20lol.%20%20I%20was%20trying%20hard,%20too!%20%20We%20had%20a%20lot%20of%20fun%20and%20decided%20that%20we%20probably%20won't%20go%20professional%20just%20yet,%20hee%20hee.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWe%20dropped%20of%20donations%20at%20Goodwill,%20and%20I%20found%209%20more%20pint%20canning%20jars%20while%20we%20were%20there.%20%20We%20dropped%20off%20recycling%20too,%20and%20stopped%20at%20the%20downtown%20library%20to%20pick%20up%20some%20supplies%20for%20this%20weekend's%20chicken%20programs.%20%20We%20did%20a%20few%20other%20errands%20too,%20including%20mailing%20a%20package%20and%20picking%20up%20some%20chocolate.%20%20It%20was%20a%20busy,%20but%20very%20good%20day.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI've%20got%20a%20new%20little%20project%20started,%20just%20to%20see%20what%20happens.%20%20I%20saved%20the%20little%20base%20from%20a%20couple%20of%20stalks%20of%20celery.%20%20I%20soaked%20them%20in%20water%20for%20a%20few%20days%20and%20they%20began%20to%20sprout,%20so%20now%20I%20have%20them%20set%20into%20some%20very%20wet%20potting%20soil.%20%20I%20want%20to%20see%20if%20they%20will%20take%20root%20the%20way%20the%20end%20of%20an%20onion%20will.%20%20If%20they%20do,%20I%20will%20plant%20them%20out%20in%20the%20garden%20when%20the%20weather%20warms.%20%20Our%20growing%20season%20is%20not%20long%20enough%20for%20celery,%20but%20started%20bunches%20might%20make%20it%20just%20fine.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETomorrow%20we%20have%20two%20libraries%20to%20visit%20with%20our%20chickens.%20%20The%20car%20is%20loaded%20(except%20for%20the%20chickens,%20of%20course!)%20and%20I%20have%20the%20cleaned%20cages%20all%20ready%20to%20go.%20%20I'm%20sure%20it%20will%20be%20another%20busy,%20fun%20day.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EEnjoy%20your%20weekend!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E-Laura%20at%20TenThingsFarm%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
