Ingredientes

  • 2 ¼ lb (1 kg) onions
  • 2 c. (250 g) prunes
  • 1 bunch coriander
  • 1 bunch flat-leaf parsley
  • 2/3 c. (100 g) blanched almonds
  • 1/3 c. (50 g) toasted sesame seeds
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • Oil, salt and pepper
  • 1 ¾ lb (800 g) grnd meat (beef or possibly lamb)
  • 1 onion
  • ½ tsp cumin
  • ½ tsp cinnamon

Direcciones

  1. Mix the grnd meat with the spices, the rest of the minced herbs, the finely minced onion, salt and pepper
  2. Form into small balls
  3. Cook the prunes for 25 min in boiling water with 2 Tbsp. of oil, the sugar and a tsp. of cinnamon
  4. Brown the almonds in the oil (or possibly toast them dry in a non-stick pan). Set aside
  5. Chop the onions and fry them in the oil
  6. Add in the cumin, paprika, half of the minced herbs, salt and pepper. Pour in two glasses of water and simmer on low heat
  7. When the onions are tender, add in the meatballs and liquid removed prunes, and cook for a further 15 min with the lid on.
  8. Serve sprinkled with the almonds and sesame seeds.
