.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E12-14%20%20slices%20good%20meaty%20bacon,%20cooked%20slightly%20crisp%20and%20chopped%20or%20broken%20into%20pieces.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPreheat%20oven%20to%20350%20degrees.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERoll%20out%20or%20position%20one%20sheet%20of%20pie%20crust%20in%20a%20pie%20pan.%20%20%20Cut%20off%20any%20overhangs%20with%20a%20sharp%20knife.%20%20Or%20you%20can%20leave%20it%20rustic%20looking.%20%20%20%20You%20can%20either%20put%20some%20pie%20weights,%20or%20some%20dried%20beans%20on%20the%20bottom%20of%20the%20crust%20to%20keep%20it%20from%20puffing%20up%20or%20just%20prick%20the%20bottom%20with%20a%20fork.%20%20%20I%20pricked%20it%20with%20a%20fork%20cause%20I%20don't%20have%20either%20dried%20beans%20or%20pie%20weights.%20%20Bake%20for%20about%2015%20minutes,%20or%20until%20it%20is%20just%20done.%20%20%20Set%20aside%20to%20cool.%20%20%20Roll%20out%20the%20other%20sheet%20of%20pie%20crust%20and%20set%20aside%20for%20a%20few%20minutes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhile%20it%20is%20baking,%20fry%20the%20bacon%20up%20and%20set%20aside%20to%20cool.%20%20%20Prepare%20the%20apples,%20peeling,%20coring%20and%20slicing%20them,%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eand%20then%20cut%20the%20cheese%20into%20small%20chunks.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhisk%20eggs%20and%20cream%20together%20with%20a%20few%20good%20grinds%20of%20pepper.%20%20You%20know%20how%20much%20you%20like%20in%20your%20food,%20and%20as%20for%20me,%20I%20did%20about%20a%20half%20dozen%20grinds.%20%20Don't%20really%20know%20how%20much%20that%20was.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPlace%20a%20layer%20of%20bacon%20first%20into%20the%20cooked%20pie%20shell,%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ethen%20add%20a%20layer%20of%20cheese,%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ethen%20the%20apple%20slices.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERepeat%20with%20another%20layer%20of%20each.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPour%20the%20lightly%20beaten%20eggs%20over%20top,%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eand%20kind%20of%20shake%20the%20pie%20pan%20a%20little%20so%20there%20aren't%20any%20air%20bubbles%20in%20there.%20%20I%20picked%20up%20the%20pie%20pan%20and%20set%20it%20sharply%20down%20on%20the%20counter%20a%20couple%20of%20times.%20%20Like%20you%20do%20when%20baking%20a%20cake,%20you%20don't%20want%20any%20large%20bubbles%20in%20that%20either.%20%20Brush%20the%20edge%20of%20the%20cooked%20crust%20with%20some%20of%20the%20egg%20yolk,%20this%20will%20help%20to%20'glue'%20the%20top%20crust%20to%20it.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPlace%20the%20second%20sheet%20of%20pie%20crust%20on%20top,%20and%20crimp%20the%20edges%20together%20lightly.%20%20Cut%20off%20the%20excess%20pie%20dough%20if%20you%20like%20and%20use%20to%20make%20decorations%20with%20it.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECut%20a%20couple%20of%20slits%20in%20the%20top,%20to%20let%20the%20steam%20escape,%20and%20then%20brush%20the%20whole%20thing%20with%20rest%20of%20the%20egg%20yolk.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENot%20only%20does%20this%20make%20it%20look%20pretty,%20but%20you%20can%20now%20'glue'%20any%20decorations%20to%20it,%20that%20you%20made%20with%20some%20of%20the%20leftover%20dough.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPlace%20in%20oven.%20%20%20I%20usually%20put%20either%20a%20sheet%20of%20aluminum%20foil%20under%20to%20catch%20any%20drips%20or%20just%20place%20it%20on%20a%20larger%20cooking%20sheet.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBake%20for%20about%2050%20minutes%20at%20350%20degrees.%20%20%20Take%20out%20of%20oven%20and%20let%20cool%20to%20room%20temp.%20%20%20Serve.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20pie%20was%20very%20easy%20to%20take%20out%20of%20the%20tin,%20once%20it%20had%20cooled,%20which%20made%20it%20much%20easier%20to%20slice%20and%20serve.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20am%20going%20to%20make%20this%20again,%20but%20I'm%20going%20to%20tweak%20it%20a%20little%20more.%20%20%20I%20really%20liked%20the%20combination%20of%20flavours,%20but%20the%20cheese%20got%20kinda%20lost%20in%20there.%20%20%20I%20think%20next%20time%20I%20will%20add%20a%20little%20more%20cheese,%20and%20in%20fact%20will%20change%20it%20up%20a%20little%20and%20use%20some%20Colby%20Jack%20Cheese.%20%20%20%20%20And%20as%20I%20said%20before,%20I%20will%20also%20cut%20the%20apple%20slices%20a%20little%20thicker,%20they%20kinda%20got%20lost%20inside.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EGo%20ahead%20and%20try%20this%20for%20a%20nice%20change%20of%20pace.%20%20%20Personally,%20I%20think%20I'm%20going%20to%20try%20taking%20this%20on%20a%20picnic.%20%20It's%20hearty,%20substantial%20and%20fun.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
