%20with%20it's%20%20Glass%20lid%20(P-15-C)%20released%20in%201977.%20(these%20also%20had%20several%20styles%20of%20plastic%20lids%20available)%20At%20first,%20these%20were%20offered%20as%20a%20porringer%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eto%20accompany%20Centura%20dinnerware,%20it%20wasn't%20long%20before%20they%20hit%20the%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMicrowave%20Heat%20n'%20Eat%20line%20as%20the%20ever%20popular%20%22Grab-It%22%20bowl...%20%20These%20are%20the%20Chili%20bowls%20that%20I%20grew%20up%20with%20as%20a%20child.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20Sidekicks%20(P-140-B)%20weren't%20released%20until%20the%20next%20year%20in%201978.%20%20They%20measure%206%201/2%20x%204%201/2,%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ewhich%20is%20just%20the%20right%20size%20for%20a%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ecouple%20sticks%20of%20Cornbread.%20(After%20all,%20you%20can't%20eat%20chili%20without%20a%20couple%20of%20corn%20sticks%20on%20the%20side%20now%20can%20you?)%20%20Though%20not%20really%20available%20to%20the%20public%20until%20'78,%20these%20little%20devils%20had%20been%20%22flyin'%20the%20friendly%20skies%22%20for%20years%20as%20airline%20plates.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eseveral%20and%20store%20them%20in%20the%20freezer.%20%20The%20only%20downfall%20of%20the%20P-14%20is%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ethat%20no%20plastic%20covers%20were%20made;%20or%20at%20least%20none%20that%20I%20have%20ever%20seen,%20so%20once%20you%20have%20placed%20the%20lid%20on%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Etop,%20you%20have%20to%20wrap%20the%20whole%20thing%20in%20plastic%20wrap%20if%20it%20will%20be%20in%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ethe%20freezer%20for%20any%20length%20of%20time.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESuddenly%20there%20was%20a%20disturbing%20trend%20sweeping%20across%20the%20United%20States...%20People%20were%20eating%20Tomato%20soup%20out%20of%20their%20Grab-It%20bowls,%20instead%20of%20chili.%20It%20was%20utter%20chaos%20and%20pandemonium%20for%20the%20poor%20Sidekick%20just%20wasn't%20large%20enough%20to%20support%20a%20Toasted%20Cheese%20sandwich.%20%20Luckily,%20Corningware%20Research%20and%20Development%20were%20on%20the%20job%20and%20by%201981,%20the%20Snack-It%20plate%20(P-185-B)%20appeared.%20%20This%206%20inches%20square%20and%20just%20the%20right%20size%20shoulder%20the%20cheese%20laden%20burden%20and%20peace%20and%20harmony%20were%20restored%20to%20the%20Western%20world.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThen%20the%20super-size%20craze%20began.%20%20Thus%20in%201982,%20Corning%20released%20the%2024%20oz%20Grab-a-Meal%20bowl%20(P-240-B),%20for%20those%20who%20wanted%20a%20REALLY%20big%20bowl%20o'%20chili.%20%20These%20were%20only%20available%20with%20glass%20lids%20(P-240-C).%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAs%20you%20can%20see,%20the%20Grab-A-Meal%20bowl%20is%20significantly%20bigger%20than%20the%20original%20Grab-It.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThere%20were%20a%20couple%20of%20other%20pieces%20that%20were%20available%20here%20and%20there.%20%20The%20Platter/Main%20Plate%20(P-811)%20which%20was%20original%20considered%20a%20platter%20for%20the%20Centura%20Dinnerware%20line,%20was%20also%20available%20as%20of%201977,%20but%20I%20am%20not%20sure%20how%20long.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThere%20was%20also%20the%20larger%20Casserole..%20as%20opposed%20to%20the%20Casser-ette.%20%20This%201%201/4%20quart%20round%20dish%20(P-270-B)%20with%20a%20glass%20lid%20(P-270-C,%20which%20also%20fits%20the%20M-225-B)%20showed%20up%20on%20the%20scene%20sometime%20in%20the%20mid%2080s,%20but%20I%20have%20no%20idea%20how%20long%20it%20was%20available%20either.%20%20This%20is%20an%20excellent%20Crisp/Crumble%20pan,%20if%20I%20do%20say%20so%20myself.%20%20It%20is%20also%20an%20excellent%20%22Casserole%20for%20two%22%20dish.%20(I%20do%20not%20know%20if%20this%20dish%20has%20it's%20%22own%22%20plastic%20lid%20but%20the%20M-225-PC%20plastic%20lid%20fits%20the%20P-270-B%20casserole)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhere%20is%20your%20Corningware??%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
