- Put a large pot of water on high to boil and season liberally with salt.
- Meanwhile in a food processor combine the garlic, basil, extra virgin olive oil and pulse till smooth. Season with salt and pepper. Add in the cream if you like.
- Cook pasta in rolling boiling water for about 8 to 10 min or possibly till al dente. Drain.
- Toss immediately in pesto and sprinkle with tomatoes and coarsely minced almonds.
