%20is%20River%20Cottage%20Veg%20Everyday%20by%20Hugh%20Fearnley-Whittingstall%20and%20here%20is%20another%20from%20it.%20In%20the%20book%20it's%20called%20Macaroni%20Peas,%20but%20my%20friend%20H.%20quickly%20renamed%20it%20cheesy%20peas%20and%20it%20is%20her%20favourite%20comfort%20food%20at%20the%20moment.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIt's%20delicious,%20it's%20so%20easy%20and%20quick%20to%20make%20and%20best%20of%20all,%20it's%20one%20of%20those%20recipes%20for%20which%20I%20always%20have%20all%20the%20ingredients%20in%20the%20house.%20As%20a%20result%20it%20has%20become%20part%20of%20my%20regular%20meal%20rotation%20and%20the%20go%20to%20recipe%20when%20I%20want%20something%20quick.%20I%20have%20made%20it%20so%20many%20times%20I%20don't%20measure%20the%20ingredients%20any%20more%20and%20to%20be%20honest%20there%20is%20no%20need%20to%20be%20all%20that%20exact%20anyways.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20reason%20I%20haven't%20blogged%20it%20about%20it%20before%20is%20that%20in%20all%20the%20times%20I%20have%20made%20it,%20I%20have%20never%20taken%20a%20proper%20picture%20of%20it.%20Ever.%20Just%20this%20mobile%20phone%20picture,%20but%20it'll%20just%20have%20to%20do.........%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBring%20a%20large%20pan%20of%20salt%20water%20to%20the%20boil%20for%20your%20pasta.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESimmer%20the%20peas%20for%20a%20few%20minutes%20until%20tender.%20If%20you%20are%20using%20older%20fresh%20peas%20this%20will%20take%20a%20little%20longer.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhilst%20the%20peas%20are%20on,%20cook%20your%20pasta%20in%20the%20large%20pan%20of%20salt%20water%20until%20al%20dente.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhilst%20the%20peas%20and%20pasta%20are%20cooking%20away,%20melt%20the%20butter%20in%20a%20pan%20over%20low%20heat%20and%20add%20the%20chopped%20garlic%20just%20for%20a%20minute%20or%20two.%20You%20don't%20want%20it%20to%20brown%20as%20that%20would%20make%20it%20bitter.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETake%20off%20the%20heat.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhen%20the%20peas%20are%20cooked,%20drain%20them,%20but%20keep%20the%20cooking%20water.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPut%20about%20half%20the%20peas,%20the%20melted%20garlic%20butter%20and%20the%20grated%20cheese%20in%20a%20blender%20together%20with%20about%206tbsp%20of%20the%20pea%20cooking%20water%20and%20blitz%20until%20you%20have%20a%20smooth%20and%20loose%20puree.%20You%20can%20add%20more%20water%20if%20needed.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdd%20the%20remaining%20whole%20peas%20and%20season%20to%20taste%20with%20salt%20and%20pepper.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDrain%20the%20pasta%20and%20mix%20with%20the%20hot%20pea%20sauce%20straight%20away.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EServe%20topped%20with%20extra%20grated%20cheese%20and%20shredded%20basil%20if%20desired.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EEnjoy!%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
