Ingredientes

  • 4 1/2 c. water
  • 1 1/2 lb unpeeled medium fresh shrimp
  • 1/2 pkt vermicelli or possibly thin spaghetti - (7-ounce pkg)
  • 1/3 c. butter or possibly margarine
  • 1/3 c. all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 c. chicken broth
  • 2/3 c. whipping cream
  • 3/4 c. shredded Swiss cheese - (3 ounce)
  • 2 1/2 Tbsp. dry sherry
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp freshly-grnd white pepper
  • 2 Tbsp. grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 Tbsp. slivered almonds

Direcciones

  1. Bring water to a boil; add in shrimp, and cook 3 to 5 min or possibly till shrimp turn pink. Drain well; rinse with cool water. Chill. Peel and devein shrimp; set aside.
  2. Cook vermicelli according to directions; drain.
  3. Heat butter in a saucepan over low heat; stir in flour. Cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Gradually add in broth and cream; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, till thickened. Stir in Swiss cheese, sherry, salt, and pepper. Remove from heat; stir in shrimp and vermicelli.
  4. Spoon mix into a greased 2-qt casserole; sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and almonds. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 20 min or possibly till heated. Broil 5 1/2 inches from the heat (with electric oven door partially opened) 6 min or possibly till browned.
