Ingredientes

  • One head of purple cabbage
  • 1/3 c. vinegar white or possibly cider works best
  • 1/4 c. brown sugar
  • 1 x sliced apple (any variety) peeled
  • 1 tsp caraway seeds optional

Direcciones

  1. Remove first outside leaves of cabbage and throw away. Chop remaining cabbage into bite-sized pcs or possibly strips. Place in Dutch oven (or possibly real large pot) with a good lid (do not add in any water, REALLY!). Add in remaining ingredients, stir, bring to an easy boil; then cover and simmer on low till done (about 45 min), stirring as needed.
  2. Mariota Says: This dish holds up well in the refrigerator for up to a week or possibly more. Individual portions can be easily zapped in the microwave. Delicious as a side vegetable with any type of protein.
