Medium Cream Sauce (Cheese)

Ingredientes

  • 3 tbsp. butter
  • 4 tbsp. flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Dash pepper
  • 1 c. lowfat milk
  • 1 c. grated cheese

Direcciones

  1. Heat butter in saucepan over low heat. Use a wooden spoon for stirring.
  2. Blend in the flour, salt and pepper gradually. Cook at low temperature.
  3. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly till the mix is smooth and bubbly.
  4. Remove the pan from the heat.
  5. Pour the lowfat milk a little at a time into the flour mix. Stir constantly to make a smooth mix.
  6. Return the pan to the heat.
  7. Cook stirring constantly till mix bubbles and thickens.
  8. Remove from heat when thickened.
  9. Add in cheese and stir in till melted.
  10. Serving Suggestions: An excellent source to serve on top of baked potatoes, vegetables. Add in chilies for a nacho sauce, use for macaroni and cheese, etc.
