%20as%20my%20starter%20at%20Stories%20at%20the%20Halliburton%20and%20enjoyed%20them%20very%20much.%20%20The%20second%20time%20I%20had%20Crab%20Cakes%20was%20at%20Pictou%20Lodge%20Resort,%20chef%20chose%20the%20menu%20for%20me%20and%20it%20included%20Crab%20Cakes%20with%20Pineapple%20Carpaccio%20and%20Corn%20Salsa%20(top%20photo),%20then%20finally%20I%20made%20Northumberland%20Snow%20Crab%20Cakes%20with%20Dill%20Remoulade%20(bottom%20right)%20on%20a%20cooking%20day%20on%20the%20farm%20with%20the%20Kilted%20Chef.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20enjoyed%20all%20of%20these%20different%20Crab%20Cakes,%20although%20the%20Snow%20Crab%20Cakes%20were%20probably%20the%20best%20of%20all,%20simple%20and%20scrumptious.%20%20Now%20back%20in%20Scotland%20and%20summer%20seems%20to%20have%20gone%20on%20it's%20holidays,%20it%20was%2013C%20and%20pouring%20with%20rain%20the%20other%20day.%20%20%E2%80%8BA%20new%20survey%20carried%20by%20International%20Currency%20Exchange%20(ICE)%20found%20that%20majority%20of%20people%20choose%20their%20holiday%20purely%20based%20on%20the%20food%20available%20at%20the%20destination.%20I%20hadn't%20really%20thought%20about%20that%20before,%20but%20it%20certainly%20is%20a%20factor%20when%20I'm%20planning%20my%20holidays.%20%20In%20order%20to%20keep%20that%20holiday%20feeling%20going%20I%20decided%20to%20recreate%20a%20version%20of%20Nova%20Scotia%20Crab%20Cakes.%20I%20didn't%20have%20any%20Snow%20Crab,%20in%20fact%20I%20was%20struggling%20to%20find%20any%20crab%20at%20all%20in%20the%20small%20town%20where%20I%20shop%20as%20there%20is%20no%20fish%20shop%20and%20the%20supermarket%20didn't%20have%20any%20fresh%20crab.%20%20I%20had%20the%20choice%20of%20tinned%20crab%20or%20or%20the%20not%20very%20appetising%20looking%20'Seafood%20Sticks'.%20%20In%20the%20end%20I%20decided%20to%20go%20with%20the%20Seafood%20Sticks%20and%20I'm%20pleased%20to%20say%20that%20they%20worked%20very%20well%20indeed,%20making%20this%20dish%20one%20much%20less%20expensive%20and%20still%20delicious.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMix%20all%20the%20ingredients%20together%20and%20divide%20into%2024%20small%20cakes.%20%20Dip%20each%20cake%20in%20flour,%20then%20egg%20and%20then%20in%20the%20breadcrumbs,%20place%20on%20a%20baking%20tray%20lined%20with%20parchment%20and%20place%20in%20the%20fridge%20for%20a%20couple%20of%20hours%20to%20firm%20up.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMake%20the%20Dill%20Remoulade%20by%20mixing%20all%20the%20ingredients%20together%20and%20leave%20for%20at%20least%2030%20minutes%20for%20the%20flavours%20to%20blend.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESaute%20the%20crab%20cakes%20a%20few%20at%20a%20time,%20keeping%20them%20warm%20in%20the%20oven,%20then%20serve%20with%20the%20Dill%20Remoulade.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENova%20Scotia%20'Crab'%20Cakes%20with%20Dill%20Remoulade%20Here%20are%20a%20few%20memories%20of%20my%20trip%20to%20Nova%20Scotia,%20I%20can%20certainly%20recommend%20it%20as%20a%20foodie%20holiday%20destination.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20post%20is%20my%20entry%20to%20the%20ICE%20competition,%20I%20received%20expenses%20for%20the%20ingredients%20I%20used%20but%20was%20not%20paid%20to%20write%20this%20post%20and%20all%20opinions%20are%20my%20own.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
