%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnd%20thus%20began%20my%20Sunday%20morning.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhat%20a%20way%20to%20start%20the%20day.....making%20cooooooooookies!%20(there%20are%20other%20good%20ways%20to%20start%20the%20day...but%20this%20day%20was%20made%20for%20cookies)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPreheat%20your%20oven%20to%20400'%20F%20placing%20your%20racks%20in%20the%20upper%20and%20lower%20thirds%20of%20the%20oven.%20(bwaaaahahaha%20I%20said%20racks!!!)%20Line%202%20cookie%20sheets%20with%20parchment%20paper%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20a%20medium%20mixing%20bowl,%20sift%20(and%20for%20this%20recipe,%20I%20think%20sifting%20rather%20than%20%22whisking%22%20is%20very%20important....cocoa%20powder%20and%20other%20ingredients%20like%20to%20remain%20lumpy.....and%20sifting%20will%20really%20break%20those%20up)%20where%20was%20I?%20Oh...sift%20(i%20almost%20typed%20fist....wtf?)%20together%20the%20flour,%20cocoa%20powder,%20cream%20of%20tartar,%20baking%20soda%20and%20salt.%20Set%20aside.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20a%20larger%20mixing%20bowl,%20beat%20together%20the%20butter%20and%201%201/2%20cups%20sugar%20until%20fluffy....this%20should%20take%20about%202%20minutes%20on%20medium%20speed.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdd%20the%20eggs%20and%20beat%20until%20combined.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETurn%20the%20mixer%20speed%20down%20to%20low%20and%20gradually%20(and%20I%20mean%20g%20r%20a%20d%20u%20a%20l%20l%20y,%20I'm%20still%20finding%20cocoa%20flour%20mixture%20in%20places%20other%20than%20the%20bowl)%20%20add%20the%20flour%20mixture...beating%20until%20combined.%20Now%20you%20will%20have%20a%20bowl%20of%20rich,%20dark%20cookie%20dough.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20a%20little%20bowl,%20mix%20together%20the%20remaining%201/4%20cup%20sugar,%20cinnamon%20and%20chili%20powder.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EGet%20out%20a%20tablespoon%20and%20scoop%20out%20some%20dough,%20roll%20it%20up%20into%20a%20ball%20and%20drop%20it%20into%20the%20chili%20mixture%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EYou're%20suppose%20to%20place%20the%20balls%20about%203%22%20apart%20from%20each%20other.%20I%20did%20my%20best%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBut%20I%20needed%20to%20fit%20them%20all%20on%202%20cookie%20sheets...which%20I%20did.%20It%20actually%20made%20the%20exact%20number%20of%20cookies%20that%20the%20recipe%20said%20it%20would.....amazing!!!!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBake%20for%20a%20total%20of%2010%20minutes.....halfway%20through%20the%20baking%20time....rotate%20the%20cookie%20sheets.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWell...as%20you%20can%20see,%20they%20ran%20into%20each%20other%20and%20got%20kinda%20crowded.%20So%20I%20ended%20up%20with%20some%20triangular%20shapes....square%20shapes,%20rectangular....and%20a%20few%20round%20ones.%20I%20think%20there's%20a%20math%20lesson%20in%20here%20somewhere%20for%20some%20hungry%20elementary%20student.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELet%20the%20cookies%20cool%20on%20the%20sheets,%20on%20a%20wire%20rack%20for%20about%205%20minutes%20or%20so%20before%20attempting%20to%20remove%20them.%20Theeeeeeeeeen,%20allow%20to%20cool%20completely%20on%20a%20wire%20wrack.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThen%20grab%20a%20cookie%20(any%20shape%20will%20do)....close%20your%20eyes,%20put%20the%20cookie%20up%20to%20your%20lips%20(don't%20taste%20yet)...inhale%20the%20aroma....%20and%20then%20take%20a%20bite.%20Now%20experience%20the%20burst%20of%20flavors%20that%20assault%20your%20taste%20buds.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFirst%20the%20chocolate.....then%20the%20cinnamon%20makes%20it's%20appearance%20and%20last%20but%20not%20least...a%20hint%20of%20the%20chili%20powder,%20leaving%20you%20wanting%20more...just%20to%20make%20sure%20you%20actually%20experienced%20all%20that%20within%20a%20few%20seconds.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThey%20aren't%20too%20sweet....they%20aren't%20too%20chocolately%20(not%20that%20there's%20any%20such%20thing...I'm%20just%20saying)%20and%20they%20aren't%20too%20spicy.%20They're%20just....enjoyable.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
