%20have%20to%20make%20this%20famous%20misal%20pav,%20coz%20Meena%20of%20Random%20Ramblings%20challenged%20us%20with%20this%20incredible%20street%20food,%20while%20Sherin%20of%20Kuk's%20Kitchen%20challenged%20Northern%20team%20with%20Medhu%20Vada.%20I%20know%20very%20well%20that%20both%20the%20teams%20are%20gonna%20rock%20with%20their%20challenges,%20honestly%20i%20was%20very%20much%20excited%20to%20see%20this%20misal%20pav,%20thanks%20to%20Meena%20for%20giving%20me%20a%20chance%20and%20pulling%20me%20to%20make%20my%20favourite%20street%20food%20at%20home.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EUnfortunately%20if%20you%20live%20in%20abroad,%20if%20its%20comes%20to%20chaat%20items%20we%20dont%20get%20that%20much%20easily%20the%20store%20bought%20ones,%20obviously%20we%20have%20to%20make%20sometime%20those%20delicious%20street%20foods%20from%20the%20scratch.Since%20i%20dont%20have%20neither%20mixture%20to%20top%20this%20misal%20pav%20nor%20the%20pav%20buns,%20i%20prepared%20myself%20at%20home.%20This%20time%20i%20went%20for%20wholewheat%20pav%20buns%20and%20usual%20mixture%20i%20do%20prepare%20once%20a%20while%20for%20our%20evening%20snacks.%20Meena%20explained%20the%20recipe%20very%20well%20and%20it%20was%20quite%20easy%20for%20me%20to%20prepare%20them.Misal%20pav%20is%20still%20warm%20and%20we%20are%20enjoying%20rite%20now%20am%20typing%20the%20recipe.%20Am%20very%20much%20happy%20that%20finally%20i%20could%20make%20myself%20at%20home%20one%20of%20my%20favourite%20street%20food.%20A%20big%20thanks%20to%20the%20brain%20child%20of%20this%20event%20Divya%20of%20You%20Too%20Ccan%20Cook%20for%20making%20this%20event%20very%20much%20interesting%20and%20we%20both%20teams%20are%20enjoying%20thoroughly%20this%20healthy%20competition.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdd%20the%20yeast,%20sugar%20and%20salt%20to%20the%20luke%20warm%20water,%20give%20a%20stir%20and%20let%20them%20sit%20aside%20for%205minutes%20until%20the%20yeast%20turns%20foamy.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETake%20the%20flours%20in%20a%20large%20bowl%20and%20add%20the%20foaming%20yeast%20water%20and%20oil%20together%20to%20the%20flour%20and%20knead%20everything%20as%20soft%20dough.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EArrange%20the%20dough%20in%20a%20large%20greased%20bowl%20and%20keep%20in%20a%20warm%20place%20for%20an%20hour%20until%20the%20dough%20doubled%20their%20volume..%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAfter%20an%20hour,%20punch%20down%20the%20doubled%20dough%20and%20knead%20again,%20make%206%20medium%20sized%20balls%20from%20the%20dough%20and%20arrange%20one%20by%20one%20in%20a%20greased%20mould%20and%20let%20them%20side%20again%20for%20an%20hour%20in%20a%20warm%20place.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAfter%20an%20hour;%20preheat%20the%20oven%20to%20350F.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBrush%20the%20breads%20with%20milk%20and%20bake%20in%20middle%20rack%20for%2015-20minutes%20until%20a%20golden%20brown%20crust%20forms%20over%20the%20bread...Put%20off%20the%20oven%20and%20take%20off%20the%20mould%20and%20let%20them%20cool.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMisal%20pav:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E2cups%20White%20peas%20(soaked%20and%20cooked%20in%20pressure%20cooker)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E4nos%20Onions%20(chopped)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E2nos%20Tomatoes%20(chopped)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E4nos%20Garlic%20(chopped)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1inch%20Ginger%20(chopped)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E2nos%20Green%20chillies%20(chopped)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1/4cup%20Grated%20coconut%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1/2tsp%20Red%20chilly%20powder%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1tsp%20Coriander%20powder%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1/2tsp%20Dry%20mango%20powder%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1/2tsp%20Garam%20masala%20powder%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1/2tsp%20Cumin%20seeds%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESalt%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOil%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMixture%20for%20topping%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPav%20buns%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFew%20chopped%20coriander%20leaves%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EKeep%20aside%20few%20chopped%20onions,we%20need%20it%20while%20serving.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHeat%20a%20kadai%20with%20a%20table%20spoon%20of%20oil,%20now%20saute%20the%20onions,tomatoes,ginger,garlic,green%20chillies%20until%20they%20turns%20soft,finally%20add%20the%20coconut%20and%20cook%20for%20few%20more%20minutes.Keep%20aside%20and%20let%20them%20cool.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENow%20grind%20these%20sauteed%20veggies%20as%20a%20paste.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHeat%20again%20enough%20oil%20in%20a%20kadai,fry%20the%20cumin%20seeds%20until%20they%20turns%20brown.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENow%20add%20the%20red%20chilly%20powder,coriander%20powder,garam%20masala%20powder,dry%20mango%20powder%20and%20fry%20in%20low%20flame%20for%20few%20seconds.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdd%20immediately%20the%20grounded%20paste%20and%20cook%20everything%20in%20simmer,%20finally%20add%20enough%20water%20to%20get%20a%20gravy.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdd%20enough%20salt%20and%20cook%20for%202-3minutes,%20add%20now%20the%20cooked%20peas%20and%20bring%20to%20boil,put%20off%20the%20stove%20immediately.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhile%20serving,%20top%20it%20with%20mixture,chopped%20onions%20and%20chopped%20coriander%20leaves.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EServe%20it%20immediately%20with%20pav%20buns.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
