.%20May%20this%20year%20bring%20you%20joy,%20happiness,%20prosperity,%20wealth%20and%20good%20health.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20prepared%20the%20mixture%20with%20a%20combination%20of%20%20Sev%20made%20from%20Besan%20(gram%20flour),%20Spiced%20besan%20coated%20Peanuts%20-%20Masala%20peanuts%20and%20fried%20Curry%20leaves.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFor%20those%20who%20prefer%20a%20spicier%20version%20you%20can%20sprinkle%20some%20red%20chilli%20powder%20along%20with%20some%20salt%20over%20the%20mixture%20and%20mix%20well%20or%20else%20spice%20up%20the%20besan%20with%20which%20the%20Sev%20is%20prepared.%20Its%20all%20upto%20you!%20:-)%20I%20did%20not%20want%20a%20very%20spicy%20snack,%20so%20this%20recipe%20is%20a%20bit%20on%20the%20milder%20side.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFor%20preparing%20the%20Sev%20I%20used%20a%20Murukku%20maker%20or%20the%20same%20thing%20I%20used%20to%20make%20my%20Idiappams%20:-)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMixture%20Recipe%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EYou'll%20need%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFor%20Sev:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFor%20fried%20Curry%20leaves:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECurry%20leaves%20-%204-5%20springs%20(%20approx%2015%20-%2020%20leaves)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOil%20-%20for%20deep%20frying%20and%20preparing%20the%20entire%20mixture%20items%20(%20I%20used%20Canola)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDirections%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFor%20Sev:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1.%20Take%20the%20gram%20flour%20in%20a%20mixing%20bowl%20and%20add%20all%20the%20spices%20(%20red%20chilli%20powder,%20turmeric%20powder,%20pepper%20powder)%20and%20salt%20and%20using%20water%20make%20a%20smooth%20dough.%20(It%20may%20be%20a%20sticky%20dough%20but%20thats%20ok)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E2.%20Apply%20some%20oil%20on%20your%20palm%20and%20take%20a%20nice%20handful%20of%20the%20dough%20and%20fill%20it%20inside%20the%20Murukku%20or%20Idiappam%20maker.%20The%20stencil%20used%20should%20of%20small%20dots%20such%20that%20the%20dough%20when%20pressed%20will%20come%20out%20as%20thin%20strings.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E3.%20Heat%20oil%20in%20a%20deep%20frying%20pan%20and%20press%20the%20dough%20into%20the%20oil%20and%20continue%20to%20do%20so%20in%20circular%20motions%20without%20breaking%20the%20strings.%20(It%20will%20look%20like%20one%20big%20ball%20of%20strings%20:-)%20)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E4.%20Break%20the%20strings%20into%20small%201%20inch%20length%20pieces,%20or%20simply%20break%20it%20apart%20into%20smaller%20length%20pieces.%20Sev%20is%20ready%20:-)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFor%20the%20Masala%20Peanuts:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1.%20In%20a%20mixing%20bowl%20add%202-3%20tblsp%20of%20the%20gram%20flour%20with%20the%20peanuts%20and%20some%20spices%20(%20Red%20chilli%20powder,%20Turmeric%20powder%20and%20Pepper%20powder)%20,%20some%20Garlic%20paste%20(if%20you%20like)%20and%20salt%20to%20taste%20and%20mix%20together%20with%20some%20water.%20The%20gram%20flour%20should%20stick%20to%20each%20peanut%20like%20a%20thick%20coating.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E2.%20Heat%20some%20oil%20(%20or%20you%20may%20use%20the%20same%20oil%20used%20to%20fry%20the%20Sev)%20and%20drop%20in%20each%20peanut%20one%20by%20one.%20Its%20ok%20if%20%20few%20peanuts%20stick%20together.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E3.%20Fry%20them%20until%20nice%20and%20golden%20brown%20(%20else%20the%20peanut%20may%20not%20get%20fried%20well%20and%20may%20still%20be%20raw%20inside)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFor%20the%20Fried%20Curry%20Leaves:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1.%20Take%204-5%20sprigs%20of%20curry%20leaves%20and%20fry%20them%20in%20the%20same%20oil%20until%20crisp.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFor%20the%20Mixture:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1.%20Mix%20together%20the%20Sev%20,%20Masala%20Peanuts%20and%20the%20fried%20curry%20leaves.%20A%20crispy%20and%20crunchy%20snack%20is%20ready%20!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EStore%20them%20in%20air-tight%20containers%20and%20they%20will%20stay%20crisp%20for%20several%20days.%20I'm%20enjoying%20this%20delicious%20snack%20even%20while%20I%20type%20this%20right%20now,%20its%20simply%20so%20yumm%20and%20irresistible!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHope%20you%20all%20are%20enjoying%20the%20New%20Year%20with%20lots%20of%20good%20food%20and%20lovely%20people%20around%20you!!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E-Manju%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
