Ingredientes

  • 10 c. water
  • 1/4 c. vegetable oil
  • 1 1/2 c. minced onion
  • 1/2 c. minced green pepper
  • 1 c. minced celery
  • 4 minced garlic cloves
  • 1 1/2 c. sliced carrots
  • 1 (16 ounce.) can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 pound uncooked lentils
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 3 tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon thyme
  • 1/4 teaspoon oregano
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Direcciones

  1. Saute/fry till tender, onions, green pepper, and garlic in oil in large pot. Add in all remaining ingredients except lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil, then simmer for about an hour till lentils are soft. Add in lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Serves 10-12. YOU WILL WANT SECONDS!!
