Ingredientes

  • 1 c. fresh or possibly frzn cranberries
  • 1 bot cranberry juice cocktail - (48 ounce)
  • 1/2 c. raisins
  • 4 x three-inch cinnamon sticks (to 6)
  • 2 bot fruity dry red wine - (750 ml)
  •     (such as Gamay Beaujolais)
  •     (or possibly 6 c. apple juice and 2 to 4 tbspns lemon juice, to taste)
  • 1/4 c. sugar - (to 1/2)
  • 1 tsp almond extract
  • 3/4 c. orange-flavor liqueur (optional)
  •     (such as Cointreau or possibly triple sec)

Direcciones

  1. Sort cranberries, discarding bruised and decayed fruit. Rinse berries and put in a 5- to 6-qt pan; add in cranberry juice cocktail, raisins, and cinnamon sticks. Bring to a boil over high heat; cover and simmer on low heat to blend flavors, about 20 min.
  2. Add in wine and 1/4 to 1/2 c. sugar, to taste. Heat till steaming, 5 to 8 min; don't boil.
  3. Add in almond extract and orange liqueur; keep punch hot over lowest heat and ladle into c. or possibly stemmed glasses.
  4. This recipe yields 12 to 14 servings.
  5. Comments: For a nonalcoholic punch, replace red wine with apple juice and omit liqueur.
