%20restaurant%20in%20Clarksville,%20MD%20called%20Great%20Sage.%20I%20only%20went%20a%20few%20times%20but%20I%20really%20liked%20it%20(haven't%20been%20back%20but%20it's%20probably%20still%20pretty%20good%20if%20you%20are%20looking%20to%20try%20it%20out,%20it%20seems%20to%20still%20be%20in%20business).%20Besides%20the%20spinach%20salad,%20which%20was%20very%20good,%20my%20favorite%20thing%20to%20get%20and%20really%20my%20only%20real%20reason%20for%20going%20was%20the%20trio%20of%20spreads%20(dips?)%20appetizer-%20carrot,%20mushroom,%20and%20beet.%20If%20I%20recall,%20I%20don't%20actually%20remember%20eating%20the%20beet%20spread%20as%20a%20teenager.%20Unfortunately%20they%20completely%20changed%20the%20menu%20and%20this%20was%20cut%20from%20the%20list.%20I%20still%20think%20about%20it%20fondly%20and%20when%20looking%20at%20the%20weekly%20grocery%20store%20circular%20and%20seeing%20cremini%20mushrooms%20on%20sale,%20I%20decided%20to%20try%20and%20find%20a%20recipe%20for%20a%20mushroom%20dip.%20As%20usual%20I%20couldn't%20just%20follow%20the%20recipe%20like%20a%20good%20little%20soldier.%20So%20far%20I've%20done%20a%20carrot%20dip%20and%20now%20the%20mushroom,%20all%20I%20have%20to%20do%20is%20try%20my%20hand%20a%20beet%20dip%20and%20I'll%20be%20all%20set.%20So%20here%20it%20is%20(probably%20could%20have%20a%20better%20picture%20but%20this%20was%20done%20on%20the%20fly)%20the%20mushroom%20dip.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPulse%20toasted%20pecans%20in%20food%20processor%20until%20finely%20chopped,%20almost%20flour-like.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESaute%20onions%20in%20olive%20oil%20until%20translucent.%20Add%20mushrooms,%20garlic,%20rosemary,%20and%20salt%20and%20pepper%20to%20taste%20and%20saute%20until%20mushrooms%20start%20to%20soften.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdd%20sherry%20to%20mushrooms,%20and%20simmer%202%20minutes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETo%20the%20pecans%20in%20the%20food%20processor,%20add%20cooked%20mushrooms%20and%20onions%20and%20process%20until%20smooth.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20served%20with%20pita%20chips%20and%20it%20was%20delicious.%20I%20found%20a%20beet%20dip%20but%20haven't%20tried%20it%20yet.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
