%20to%20provide%20maximum%20rest%20for%20the%20new%20mother.%20Asher%20is%20sleeping%20with%20us%20though,%20and%20most%20of%20his%20needs%20are%20taken%20care%20by%20us.%20While%20it%20is%20tiring,%20my%20mother%20understood%20that%20it%20is%20important%20for%20breastfeeding%20reasons.%20My%20family%20stepped%20in%20to%20look%20after%20Asher,%20so%20that%20I%20can%20take%20a%20nap%20or%20shower%20during%20the%20day.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EConfinement%20means%20I%20am%20not%20allowed%20out.%20Well,%20I%20broke%20that%20twice.%20Once%20when%20I%20needed%20some%20documents%20signed%20so%20it%20was%20a%20quick%2030%20mins%20trip,%20whereas%20the%20other%20time,%20I%20could%20not%20resist%20and%20headed%20to%20a%20children%20and%20baby%20expo%20that%20was%20held%20once%20a%20year.%20My%20mother%20went%20with%20me%20and%20we%20had%20a%20great%20time%20being%20out.%20The%20expo%20was%20indoors%20though%20and%20we%20kept%20it%20fairly%20short.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMy%20mum%20prepared%20most%20of%20the%20food,%20with%20many%20of%20it%20ginger%20based.%20Due%20to%20my%20surgery,%20Mum%20lessen%20the%20amount%20of%20ginger%20as%20it%20was%20said%20that%20to%20much%20%22heat%20producing%22%20food%20might%20cause%20infections.%20Nevertheless,%20I%20enjoyed%20all%20the%20meals%20for%20numerous%20reasons.%20While%20I%20love%20cooking,%20it's%20really%20lovely%20having%20mum%20looking%20after%20me%20(!)%20and%20it%20is%20one%20less%20thing%20I%20need%20to%20worry%20about%20while%20I%20get%20to%20know%20Asher%20better.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAs%20the%20month%20ends,%20I%20will%20be%20glad%20to%20be%20able%20to%20go%20out%20for%20walks%20(I'm%20very%20eager%20to%20shed%20the%20baby%20weight),%20and%20run%20errands.%20I'm%20glad%20that%20while%20my%20family%20is%20pro-confinement,%20they%20also%20respect%20our%20wishes%20and%20allowed%20me%20to%20wash%20my%20hair,%20look%20after%20Asher%20and%20looked%20after%20all%20the%20other%20necessities!%20It's%20a%20luxury%20and%20one%20that%20I%20am%20basked%20in%20the%20love%20and%20sacrifice%20of%20my%20family.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI'm%20still%20quite%20behind%20in%20blogging%20my%20adventures%20of%20cooking%20before%20I%20delivered.%20In%20actual%20fact,%20I%20have%20bookmarked%20quite%20a%20few%20things%20I%20want%20to%20do%20when%20I%20am%20not%20working.%20Hubby%20commented%20that%20he%20really%20enjoyed%20me%20being%20a%20%22housewife/domestic%20engineer%22%20during%20that%20period%20of%20time!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHand%20Torn%20Noodles%20or%20Mee%20Hoon%20Kuey%20is%20one%20of%20it.%20In%20theory,%20it%20is%20a%20really%20simple%20hawker%20dish%20to%20make.%20However,%20it%20requires%20time%20to%20do%20it.%20I%20chose%20it%20because%20I%20recall%20the%20happy%20memories%20that%20went%20with%20it.%20It%20was%20a%20dish%20of%20choice%20when%20I%20hang%20out%20with%20my%20dearest%20of%20friends.%20Three%20girls,%20sharing%20two%20bowls.%20One%20would%20prefer%20the%20meat,%20the%20other%20likes%20the%20vegetables%20in%20it.%20I'm%20the%20one%20who%20benefited%20the%20most-%20I%20like%20everything%20in%20the%20bowl%20of%20mee%20hoon%20kuey%20with%20extra%20chill.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20dough%20can't%20be%20kept%20so%20this%20dish%20is%20best%20eaten%20fresh.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENext%20post-%20Asher's%20full%20month%20celebration!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETo%20make%20the%20broth-%20boil%20everything%20for%20a%20hour%20or%20so%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EStart%20with%20the%20noodles-%20In%20a%20mixer%20with%20a%20dough%20hook,%20make%20a%20well%20in%20the%20flour.%20Add%20egg,%20salt%20and%20oil.%20Turn%20beater%20on%20and%20mix.%20Once%20it%20comes%20together,%20continue%20the%20beater%20till%20it%20becomes%20soft%20and%20springy.%20You%20can%20also%20do%20this%20by%20hand.%20Rest%20dough%20in%20a%20clean%20bowl%20for%20an%20hour.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMeanwhile,%20crisp%20the%20anchovies%20in%20the%20microwave%20by%20placing%20them%20on%20a%20plate.%20Microwave%20high%20for%2030%20seconds%20first.%20If%20they%20are%20crisp,%20great!%20If%20not,%20try%20for%20another%2030%20seconds.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECook%20mince%20meat%20in%20a%20pan%20by%20heating%20some%20oil%20and%20frying%20it.%20Set%20it%20aside.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOnce%20dough%20is%20ready,%20roll%20it%20out.%20Tear%20them%20into%20pieces.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERe%20boil%20the%20broth.%20Add%20dough%20in%20and%20cook%20till%20it%20floats%20up.%20Add%20choy%20sum%20and%20cook%20till%20done%20(That%20will%20take%2030%20seconds).%20Crack%20an%20egg%20in%20a%20small%20bowl%20and%20pour%20it%20in.%20Quickly%20dish%20the%20broth,%20hand%20pulled%20noodles,%20egg%20and%20veges%20into%20your%20serving%20bowl.%20The%20egg%20should%20be%20lightly%20poached.%20Top%20noodles%20with%20crisp%20anchovies,%20mince%20meat%20and%20chill.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
