Acerca de mí
I reside in Perth, Western Australia but was born in Singapore. My husband and I enjoy entertaining friends and certainly I love to see their smiles when they enjoy the food. I believe that food tastes better when it is shared.
I learned how to cook around 11 years ago when I was studying. Being away from home means I had to learn quick how to be independent- and cooking was one skill I am grateful to have learned. Soon after, I started to bake, purely because I could not finish my assignment that was due the next day and it was already 11pm. That was my practice run and I am baking regularly since then.

My Cantonese grandmother taught me how to cook on an ad-hoc basis. She never did tell me exactly or show me the steps. Rather, I learned through observation and by chatting with her. She taught me to trust my judgment and a cooking motto that I live by now "if it fails this time, it will succeed the next time round. But never give up."
I enjoy reading lots of cooking magazines and cook books. Jamie Oliver, Donna Hay Delicious and Healthy Cooking are a few that I could think of. Reading them always inspire me to re-create something that I can call my own. Adding a few twists to each recipe is what I like to do best.
I like my food to be simple, clean and flavoursome. Cafe style food is one of my favourite to re-create at home as I love the relaxing feel of it. However, being Chinese means I enjoy my rice as well.
