Ingredientes

  • 1 c. Butter (2 sticks)
  • 1 1/2 c. Sugar divided
  • 2 x Egg yolks
  • 2 1/2 c. Flour
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1 jar jelly, (strawberry or possibly raspberry) (10 ounce)
  • 4 x Egg whites
  • 2 c. Nuts finely minced

Direcciones

  1. In mixing bowl, cream butter and 1/2 c. of the sugar. Beat in egg yolks.
  2. Add in flour and salt; knead with fingers. Pat batter out on greased 9x9 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 min, or possibly till lightly browned.
  3. Remove from oven, spread with jelly. Beat egg whites till stiff. Mix in remaining 1 c. sugar and nuts. Spread on top of jelly. Return pan to oven.
  4. Bake 25 min longer. Cut into squares while still hot.
  5. Makes about 2dozen.
