North Carolina Vinegar Sauce

Ingredientes

  • 3 c. cider vinegar
  • 4 1/2 Tbsp. ketchup
  • 3 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. coarse salt
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. Tabasco sauce
  •     (or possibly other warm sauce)
  • 1 1/2 tsp warm red pepper flakes - (to 1 tbspn) or possibly more to taste
  • 1 1/2 tsp freshly-grnd black pepper - (to 1 tbspn)

Direcciones

  1. Combine ingredients in a nonreactive mixing bowl; whisk till salt and brown sugar dissolve. Taste for seasoning, adding warm pepper flakes as necessary.
  2. Transfer sauce to clean (or possibly even sterile) jars; chill. It will keep for several months.
  3. Yield: 3 1/2 c.
