O'brien's Traditional Irish Soda Bread

Ingredientes

  • 4 c. flour
  • 4 tsp baking pwdr
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 x Large eggs
  • 4 Tbsp. Crisco vegetable shortening
  • 1 c. lowfat milk
  • 1 c. raisins
  •     Caraway seeds optional

Direcciones

  1. Directions:Sift together flour, baking pwdr, salt and sugar. Fold in raisins and caraway seeds*.
  2. Heat shortening. Beat Large eggs and combine with lowfat milk. Mix liquids with dry mix.
  3. Knead on well floured surface. Shape into a round loaf and place in floured iron skillet.
  4. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 min.
  5. Serves 8 to 10Serves 1 loaf
