%20my%20fam%20for%20the%20wedding%20reception%20of%20one%20of%20our%20nearest%20and%20dearest.%20We%20have%20known%20the%20family%20for%20more%20than%2030%20years,%20when%20the%20moms%20met%20on%20the%20Guilford%20Green%20because%20their%20similarly%20aged%20children%20were%20being%20similarly%20age-appropriately%20annoying,%20I%20think.%20They%20have%20a%20beautiful%20house%20on%20gorgeous%20property%20just%20one%20town%20over%20from%20where%20I%20grew%20up,%20so%20we%20all,%20except%20for%20the%20littlest,%20all%20the%20way%20out%20there%20in%20Denver,%20converged%20on%20the%20homestead%20for%20the%20weekend.%20It%20was%20really%20lovely.%20The%20party%20was%20gorgeous,%20the%20food%20was%20delicious%20and%20the%20dancing%20was%20most%20excellent.%20The%20fam%20represented%20on%20the%20dance%20floor,%20it%20was%20a%20very%20impressive%20performance,%20actually.%20They%20can%20really%20cut%20a%20rug.%20It%20was%20really%20lovely%20to%20be%20home.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EA%20couple%20months%20ago,%20the%20bride%20asked%20if%20I%20would%20be%20willing%20to%20make%20an%20olive%20oil%20cake%20for%20the%20reception.%20The%20menu%20was%20tapas%20and%20paella,%20and%20it%20fit%20nicely,%20plus%20they%20are%20particularly%20fond%20of%20them.%20I%20said%20I%20would%20love%20to.%20I%20was%20thrilled%20to%20be%20able%20to%20do%20something%20for%20them,%20and%20I%20figured%20it%20definitely%20had%20to%20be%20easier%20than%20the%20fondant%20craziness%20I%20have%20made%20for%20other%20weddings.%20I%20tested%20a%20couple%20of%20options,%20this%20one%20was%20really%20delicious,%20but%20I%20wasn%E2%80%99t%20sure%20how%20it%20would%20work%20in%20larger%20format.%20So%20I%20found%20another%20one%20and%20it%20is%20a%20winner.%20It%20is%20really%20great,%20and%20even%20better,%20it%20is%20a%20dream%20to%20put%20together.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOlive%20Oil%20Cake%20sounds%20a%20little%20confusing%20perhaps.%20Like%20maybe%20it%E2%80%99s%20savory%20instead%20of%20sweet,%20or%20a%20side%20dish%20like%20cornbread,%20rather%20than%20dessert.%20It%20looks%20like%20cornbread%20too,%20so%20that%20doesn%E2%80%99t%20help%20clarify%20things.%20But%20make%20no%20mistake,%20this%20is%20definitely%20cake.%20It%E2%80%99s%20sweet%20%E2%80%93%20quite%20sweet,%20actually.%20It%20doesn%E2%80%99t%20need%20any%20kind%20of%20glaze%20or%20frosting,%20though%20I%20could%20probably%20get%20behind%20a%20nice%20glaze.%20It%E2%80%99s%20dense,%20but%20not%20heavy.%20It%E2%80%99s%20really%20moist,%20but%20not%20at%20all%20greasy,%20and%20the%20olive%20oil%20gives%20the%20edges%20a%20really%20nice%20crispness.%20It%20has%20a%20really%20great%20olive%20oil%20flavor.%20It%20is%20a%20perfect%20dessert,%20but%20isn%E2%80%99t%20too%20sweet%20for%20breakfast%20(I%20know,%20cuz%20I%20tried%20it)%20or%20for%20a%20tea%20time%20snack.%20Best%20of%20all,%20it%20comes%20together%20like%20a%20dream%20and%20there%20is%20a%20really%20good%20chance%20you%20have%20everything%20right%20in%20your%20kitchen%20already.%20It%20is%20so%20very%20easy.%20Two%20bowls,%20some%20measuring%20cups%20and%20spoons%20and%20a%20whisk.%20No%20electricity%20needed.%20Also,%20ALSO,%20it%20multiplied%20really%20easily%20and%20well%20with%20no%20negative%20effects.%20Delightful!%20(It%20calls%20for%20a%2010%E2%80%B3%20round%20pan.%20For%20a%2016%E2%80%B3%20square%20pan,%20I%20multiplied%20times%20three%20and%20it%20was%20just%20right.%20A%2016%E2%80%B3%20pan%20cut%20in%20wedding%20cake%20slices%20easily%20served%20%20the%2080%20guests.%20I%20had%20made%20two.%20Luckily%20I%20think%20it%20is%20going%20to%20freeze%20really%20well.)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBasically,%20if%20I%20haven%E2%80%99t%20been%20clear,%20MAKE%20THIS.%20Fo%20realz.%20It%20is%20perfect.%20For%20a%20party%20or%20for%20brunch%20or%20for%20a%20shower%20or%20for%20your%20office%20or%20just%20because%20you%E2%80%99re%20bored.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EJust%20make%20it.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFor%20tea%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOf%20note%E2%80%A6%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EToday,%20on%20THIS%20day,%20SCOTUS,%20I%20am%20happy%20and%20proud%20and%20thankful.%20Love%20Is%20Love.%20Keep%20Calm%20and%20Marry%20On.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAaron%20Hernandez,%20you%20are%20the%20worst.%20Tim%20Tebow,%20how%20good%20are%20you%20at%20catching%20stuff?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIt%E2%80%99s%20the%20summer,%20which%20means%204th%20of%20the%20July,%20which%20means%20the%20best%20holiday%20ever.%20Hot%20weather?%20Check.%20Lots%20of%20outdoor%20picnic%20foods?%20Check.%20Beer?%20Check.%20FIREWORKS?%20Yesssssssssss.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EStill%20reading%20Strong%20Poison.%20I%20have%20not%20had%20lots%20of%20time%20for%20reading.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPreheat%20the%20oven%20to%20350%20degrees.%20Spray%20a%2010%E2%80%B3%20cake%20pan%20with%20cooking%20spray%20and%20line%20the%20bottom%20with%20parchment%20paper.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20a%20mixing%20bowl,%20whisk%20together%20flour,%20sugar,%20baking%20powder%20and%20soda,%20and%20kosher%20salt.%20In%20a%20second%20bowl,%20whisk%20together%20olive%20oil,%20milk,%20eggs,%20Grand%20Marnier%20and%20orange%20zest.%20Wh
