Orange-Glazed Carrots

Ingredientes

  • 1 qt water
  • 11 lbs carrots, unpeeled, scrubbed, cut
  • 8 oz carrots, unpeeled, scrubbed, cut
  • 4 oz margarine
  • 5 oz dark brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup salt-reduced soy sauce
  • 3 lbs mandarin oranges, in light syrup
  • white pepper to tase

Direcciones

  1. In large, heavy pot, boil water.
  2. Add carrots, cover and bring to a boil again.
  3. Cook, stirring occasionally, until carrots are barely tender (10 minutes), or cook carrots in steamer.
  4. Stir in margarine, brown sugar, and soy sauce.
  5. Just before serving, stir in mandarin oranges and pepper to taste.
