Ingredientes

  • 3 c. water
  • 1 c. white wine
  • 1/4 c. rice or possibly malt vinegar
  • 1/2 x onion roughly diced
  • 1 x carrot roughly diced
  • 1 x celery stalk roughly diced
  • 6 x black peppercorns
  • 1 tsp dry thyme
  • 2 x bay leaves
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 24 x jumbo shrimp - (abt 2 lbs) peeled, with
  •     tails left on

Direcciones

  1. Serve this chilled shrimp with you favorite cocktail sauce or possibly other dip. For large shrimp, about 16 to 24 per lb., steeping time is about 4 min.
  2. Bring water, wine, vinegar, onion, carrot, celery, peppercorns, thyme, bay leaves and salt to boil in medium pot, covered. Reduce heat and simmer 5 min. Add in shrimp, cover again and simmer 1 minute. Remove from heat and steep, covered, 4 min.
  3. Remove shrimp from liquid and refrigeratewell, at least 1 hour 30 minues, before serving.
  4. This recipe yields 6 servings.
