.%20%20%CF%80%20equals%203.1415926535897932384626etcetera,etcetera.%20%20Because%20of%20this,%20math-lovers%20and%20sugar-aficionados%20alike%20celebrate%20March%2014%20(3/14%20=%203.14)%20as%20Pi%20Day%20each%20year.%20%20This%20year%20was%20extra%20special%20because%20it%20was%20a%20once-a-hundred-years%20opportunity%20to%20celebrate%20a%20full%20five%20digits%20(3/14/2015%20=%203.14[.]15).%20%20Adam%20and%20I%20partook%20in%20both%20dessert%20pies%20and%20pizza%20pies%20to%20mark%20the%20occasion.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPi%20Day%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdam%20and%20I%20knew%20that%20we%20wanted%20to%20go%20for%20the%20double,%20so%20we%20headed%20to%20Park%20Slope,%20where%20both%20our%20favorite%20pie%20place%20and%20pizza%20place%20reside.%20%20We%20were%20clearly%20not%20the%20only%20ones%20to%20have%20this%20idea%20%E2%80%93%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAfter%20an%20hour+%20wait,%20we%20did%20dessert%20first%20with%20pie%20at%20Four%20&%20Twenty%20Blackbirds.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMalted%20chocolate%20pecan%20for%20him%20and%20buttermilk%20chess%20for%20me.%20%20The%20crusts%20suffered%20a%20bit%20from%20what%20must%20have%20been%20a%20major%20uptick%20in%20production%20(Blackbirds%20was%20offering%20a%203%20slices%20for%20$14%20special)%20but%20the%20fillings%20were%20amazing%20as%20always.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThen%20we%20did%20slices%20of%20pizza%20pie%20at%20Pino%E2%80%99s.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBbq%20chicken%20for%20me.%20%20Adam%20got%20more%20because%20he%20has%20%CF%80%20memorized%20beyond%20the%20first%20three%20digits%20;)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDinners%20in%20Bowls%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%E2%80%99m%20not%20so%20big%20on%20plates%20-I%20also%20prefer%20chopsticks%20to%20forks%20%E2%80%93%20and%20it%20feels%20like%20we%20eat%20the%20majority%20of%20our%20dinner%20out%20of%20bowls.%20%20Extra-credit%20if%20the%20food%20is%20layered%20into%20the%20bowl%20instead%20of%20served%20as%20a%20homogenous%20dish.%20%20Our%20dinners%20last%20weekend%20hit%20both%20counts.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWe%20even%20ate%20dessert%20in%20bowls.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20ice%20cream%20was%20good,%20but%20nothing%20about%20it%20was%20%E2%80%9CTres%20Leches.%E2%80%9D%20%20Boo.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESpicy%20sweet%20potato%20bowls.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ebaked%20yam%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ecreamy%20Sriracha%20sauce%20%E2%80%93%20Sriracha,%20mayo,%20and%20honey%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Esaut%C3%A9ed%20broccoli%20%E2%80%93%20in%20soy%20sauce%20and%20rice%20vinegar%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Esunny%20side%20up%20egg%20%E2%80%93%20fried%20in%20coconut%20oil%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20was%E2%80%A6%20not%20good.%20%20The%20idea%20was%20good,%20I%20think,%20but%20the%20broccoli%20was%20freezer-burnt%20and%20the%20potatoes%20were%20old.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOur%20bbq%20bowls%20were%20much,%20much%20better.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWe%E2%80%99re%20going%20to%20put%20our%20leftovers%20on%20top%20of%20salad%20later%20this%20week%20and%20I%E2%80%99m%20pretty%20excited%20about%20it.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDUMBO%20Fun%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDrinks%20in%20DUMBO.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20am%20obsessed%20with%20Brooklyn%20Roasting%20Company%E2%80%98s%20coffee%20and%20we%20finally%20made%20it%20to%20their%20roaster/caf%C3%A9.%20%20I%20wish%20I%20had%20taken%20photos%20because%20the%20space%20was%20gorgeous%20and%20inviting,%20but%20we%20loved%20our%20beverages.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIced%20Maple%20Shay%20for%20me%20=%20espresso%20with%20cream%20and%20real%20maple%20syrup.%20%20Amazingly,%20it%20was%20too%20sweet%20and%20creamy%20for%20me%20to%20finish.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOur%20next%20stop%20was%20the%20antithesis%20of%20maple%20and%20cream,%20green%20juice%20from%20Forager%E2%80%99s.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EKale,%20spinach,%20cucumber,%20and%20papaya.%20%20I%20will%20not%20be%20getting%20papaya%20again;%20I%20always%20like%20to%20include%20one%20sweet%20and%20juicy%20component%20in%20my%20green%20juice%20(carrot,%20apple,%20watermelon,%20etc)%20but%20the%20papaya%20did%20not%20bring%20any%20brightness%20to%20the%20party.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWilliamsburg%20Fun%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESunday%20brunch%20and%20brunch%20dessert%20(%3C%E2%80%93%20that%E2%80%99s%20not%20a%20thing!)%20in%20East%20Williamsburg.%20%20We%20ate%20at%20Brooklyn%20Star%20where%20Adam%20was%2099.9%25%20sure%20that%20Emma%20Stone%20was%20at%20the%20next%20table.%20%20It%20wasn%E2%80%99t%20her,%20but%20it%20sure%20was%20her%20doppelg%C3%A4nger.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20bourbon%20bon%20bon%20%E2%80%93%20bourbon,%20iced%20coffee,%20sweetened%20condensed%20milk%20%E2%80%93%20was%20the%20menu%20item%20that%20called%20me%20in.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENope!%20%20I%20love%20bourbon,%20and%20I%20love%20iced%20coffee,%20but%20apparently%20I%20don%E2%80%99t%20love%20them%20together.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMy%20kale%20salad%20stole%20my%20heart%20though.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EYou%20can%E2%80%99t%20see%20it%20under%20the%20giant%20cheese%20crisp,%20but%20there%20was%20raw%20kale%20with%20lemon%20vinegarette,%20roasted%20peanuts,%20and%20golden%20raisins.%20%20Best%20kale%20salad%20ever.%20%20I%20know%20I%20say%20that%20every%20time,%20but%20this%20one%20was%20my%20new%20favorite.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWe%20also%20got%20coffee%20at%20Sweatshop.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnd%20the%20best%20sundae%20ever%20at%20Milk%20Bar.%20%20With%20crack%20pie%20soft-serve.%20%20The%20guy%20asked%20me%20if%20I%20wanted%20%E2%80%9Chot%20fudge%20or%20cornflakes?,%E2%80%9D%20and%20I%20answered%20%E2%80%9Cboth.%E2%80%9D%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThat%20was%20the%20correct%20answer.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDo%20you%20celebrate%20Pi%20Day?%20%20Favorite%20kind%20of%20pie?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELike%20Loading...%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERelated%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
