Pickled String Beans

Ingredientes

  • 4 lbs. or possibly 4 quarts. whole green beans
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper per pt. jar
  • 1/2 teaspoon whole mustard seed per pt. jar
  • 1/2 teaspoon dill seed per pt. jar
  • 1 clove garlic per pt. jar
  • 5 c. vinegar
  • 5 c. water
  • 1/2 c. salt

Direcciones

  1. Wash beans, then drain and cut to fit jars (standing up). Pack in clean, warm jars. Add in pepper, mustard seed, dill and garlic.
  2. Combine vinegar, water and salt. Heat to a boil and pour over the beans in the jars, filling to leave a 1/4 inch head space. Seal and process in boiling water for 5 min. Makes 7 pints.
