,%20these%20are%20but%20minor%20details%20that%20do%20not%20detract%20from%20the%20story.%20%20I%20loved%20the%20movie,%20and%20I'd%20see%20it%20again.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20keeping%20with%20the%20theme%20of%20the%20Roaring%20Twenties,%20which%20is%20%22so%20hot%20right%20now%22,%20%20Kiki%20Bee%20has%20released%20a%20fun%20cookbook%20called%20Bootleg%20Bakery:%20Wickedly%20Boozy%20Treats%20Inspired%20By%20the%20Roaring%20Twenties.%20I%20can't%20resist%20a%20somewhat%20tongue-in-cheek%20but%20fun%20cookbook,%20so%20I%20bought%20it,%20and%20was%20not%20disappointed.%20%20There%20is%20all%20manner%20of%20fun,%20boozy%20recipes%20in%20the%20book,%20including%20the%20Shimmy%20Sherry%20Shakewell%20(a%20boozy%20take%20on%20the%20Bakewell%20Tart),%20Fluttering%20Green%20Fairy%20Cakes%20(who%20can%20forget%20Kylie's%20absinthe%20fairy?),%20and%20for%20Mad%20Men%20fans,%20the%20Old%20Fashioned,%20Refashioned.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20made%20the%20cake%20into%206%20standard%20sized%20cupcakes%20(see%20photo%20at%20the%20top%20of%20this%20post),%20%20and%20frosted%20them%20with%20Pimms%20flavoured%20buttercream%20(unpictured),%20which%20departs%20from%20the%20unfrosted%20cake%20in%20the%20book.%20%20(My%20reason%20for%20this%20was%20not%20that%20I%20love%20frosting,%20but%20more%20that%20I%20wanted%20to%20test%20a%20piping%20technique.)%20%20Instead%20of%20drowning%20the%20cakes%20in%20Pimms%20syrup,%20as%20the%20recipe%20called%20for,%20I%20added%20Pimms%20to%20the%20mixture.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThese%20little%20cakes%20were%20quite%20delicious%20in%20their%20own%20right,%20but%20primarily%20because%20I%20didn't%20use%20the%20syrup%20(because%20I%20wanted%20frost-able%20cakes),%20they%20didn't%20really%20taste%20much%20like%20Pimms.%20%20However,%20if%20you%20would%20like%20to%20try%20the%20original%20recipe,%20it%20is%20as%20follows:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPreheat%20your%20oven%20to%20180%20degrees%20Celsius.%20%20Grease%20a%20450g%20loaf%20pan.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20a%20stand%20mixer,%20beat%20together%20the%20butter%20and%20sugar%20until%20light%20and%20creamy.%20%20Beat%20in%20the%20eggs,%20a%20little%20at%20a%20time.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESift%20the%20flour%20over%20the%20batter%20and%20fold%20it%20in%20carefully%20with%20a%20rubber%20spatula,%20then%20fold%20in%20the%20orange%20and%20lemon%20zests%20and%20chopped%20mint.%20%20Add%2050ml%20of%20Pimms%20to%20the%20mixture,%20pour%20the%20mixture%20into%20the%20prepared%20loaf%20tin,%20and%20bake%20for%2040-50%20minutes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhile%20the%20cake%20is%20baking,%20make%20a%20Pimms%20syrup%20by%20combining%20the%20remaining%20Pimms%20and%20orange%20and%20lemon%20juices%20in%20a%20jug.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhen%20the%20cake%20is%20baked,%20remove%20it%20from%20the%20oven%20and%20leave%20it%20to%20cool%20in%20the%20tin%20for%205%20minutes,%20then%20unmould%20it%20onto%20a%20wire%20rack,%20and%20turn%20it%20right%20side%20up.%20%20While%20the%20cake%20is%20still%20hot,%20prick%20the%20top%20of%20the%20cake%20all%20over%20with%20a%20skewer%20and%20pour%20the%20Pimms%20syrup%20over%20the%20cake%20slowly,%20giving%20the%20liquid%20time%20to%20soak%20in.%20%20If%20you%20want%20an%20authentic%20Wimbledon%20and%20punting%20on%20the%20Thames%20feel,%20when%20the%20cake%20is%20cool,%20decorate%20it%20with%20sliced%20strawberries%20and%20mint%20leaves.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
