.%20The%20fresh,%20locally%20sourced%20ingredient%20packages%20are%20labeled%20with%20name%20of%20ingredient%20and%20recipe%20that%20said%20ingredient%20belongs%20to.%20Recipe%20cards%20with%20PHOTOS%20help%20you%20prep,%20cook%20and%20serve%20the%20meals,%20most%20in%20under%2045%20minutes!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOne%20of%20the%20things%20I%20like%20most%20about%20Plated%20is%20the%20elimination%20of%20waste.%20How%20many%20times%20have%20you%20purchased%20ingredients%20for%20a%20recipe,%20only%20to%20end%20up%20throwing%20unused%20ingredients%20away%20after%20making%20said%20recipe?%20I%E2%80%99ll%20be%20honest,%20it%20happens%20to%20me%20ALL%20THE%20TIME!%20Im%20pretty%20busy%20during%20the%20week%20and%20as%20much%20as%20I%20like%20to%20cook,%20it%20just%20doesn%E2%80%99t%20happen%20every%20day%20of%20the%20week.%20Fresh%20veggies%20and%20herbs%20often%20end%20up%20in%20my%20trash%20can.%20Plated%20solves%20the%20waste%20issue%20by%20sending%20you%20only%20what%20you%20need%20for%20the%20recipes%20you%20choose%20to%20make.%20BUT%20with%20all%20of%20that%20being%20said,%20I%20must%20point%20out%20that%20my%20experience%20with%20Plated%20actually%20did%20result%20in%20some%20waste.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHere%E2%80%99s%20why.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20received%20four%20days%20worth%20of%20meals%20on%20a%20Friday%20evening.%20We%20had%20grilling%20plans%20Saturday%20evening%20so%20I%20didn%E2%80%99t%20make%20the%20first%20Plated%20meal%20until%20Sunday.%20I%20made%20the%20second%20Plated%20meal%20on%20Monday%20%E2%80%93%20Peruvian%20Steak%20Stir-Fry.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPeruvian%20Steak%20Stir-Fry%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETons%20of%20leftovers%20from%20that%20meal%20so%20I%20didn%E2%80%99t%20need%20to%20cook%20anything%20on%20Tuesday.%20By%20Wednesday,%20the%20fresh%20ingredients%20I%20received%20from%20Plated%20were%20looking%20less%20than%20stellar%20(instructions%20say%20to%20use%20all%20ingredients%20within%204%20days%20of%20receiving).%20So%20into%20the%20trash%20they%20went.%20The%20only%20thing%20I%20could%20salvage%20were%20two%2028%20ounce%20cans%20of%20whole%20tomatoes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESo%20here%E2%80%99s%20my%20total%20opinion%20of%20Plated%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELove%20the%20concept%20of%20having%20fresh%20ingredients%20delivered%20right%20to%20my%20doorstep.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELove%20the%20options%20%E2%80%93%20low%20cal,%20seafood,%20vegetarian%20%E2%80%93%20one%20of%20each%20is%20included%20in%20each%20week%E2%80%99s%20menu.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELove%20the%20simple%20recipe%20cards.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOut%20of%20the%20two%20meals%20I%20tried,%20one%20was%20great%20(Crispy%20Lemongrass%20Pork),%20one%20was%20just%20okay%20(Peruvian%20Steak%20Stir-Fry)%20and%20lacked%20flavor.%20Ken%20actually%20wasn%E2%80%99t%20impressed%20enough%20to%20order%20anything%20on%20a%20continuous%20basis.%20He%20said%20the%20meals%20reminded%20him%20of%20frozen%20dinners.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20might%20order%20meals%20from%20Plated%20again%20but%20only%20two%20maximum%20per%20week.%20I%20didn%E2%80%99t%20like%20having%20to%20throw%20ingredients%20for%20entire%20meals%20away.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPlated%20is%20cheaper%20than%20dining%20out%20(cost%20is%20at%20about%20$12%20per%20plate)%20but%20definitely%20not%20cheaper%20than%20purchasing%20items%20from%20your%20grocery%20store.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EReady%20to%20Try%20Plated?%20Here%20are%20some%20tips.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EChoose%20your%20meals%20early%20in%20the%20week.%20I%20noticed%20that%20many%20of%20the%20popular%20recipes%20become%20unavailable%20quickly.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESingle?%20While%20Plated%20only%20offers%20options%20of%20meals%20for%20two%20or%20more%20people,%20single%20folks%20can%20still%20enjoy.%20Hello%20leftovers!%20I%E2%80%99d%20suggest%20ordering%20one%20or%20two%20meals%20(don%E2%80%99t%20want%20too%20much%20product%20on%20hand%20that%20could%20go%20to%20waste)%20and%20packing%20the%20leftovers%20from%20each%20meal%20for%20lunch.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDon%E2%80%99t%20over%20order.%20It%E2%80%99s%20recommended%20to%20use%20the%20fresh%20ingredients%20within%20four%20days%20of%20receiving.%20If%20you%E2%80%99re%20busy%20like%20me%20or%20if%20things%20come%20up,%20meals%20don%E2%80%99t%20get%20made%20which%20can%20result%20in%20waste.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%E2%80%99m%20not%20sure%20how%20freezing%20the%20Plated%20meal%20ingredients%20would%20work.%20I%20didn%E2%80%99t%20even%20think%20of%20trying%20it%20but%20if%20you%20do%20try%20it,%20let%20me%20know%20how%20it%20works%20for%20you.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERight%20now,%20you%20can%20get%20four%20FREE%20plates%20from%20Plated%20with%20the%20purchase%20of%20two%20plates.%20That%E2%80%99s%20a%20pretty%20awesome%20deal.%20Get%20the%20deal%20here.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDisclaimer:%20I%20was%20not%20compensated%20for%20this%20post%20however,%20I%20did%20receive%20four%20free%20meals%20from%20Plated%20in%20exchange%20for%20this%20review.%20All%20opinions%20are%20my%20own.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
