Ingredientes

  • 8 x - 12 dry figs, stems removed
  • 1/2 x - 3/4 c. (125 - 180 ml) finely minced walnuts
  • 1/4 c. (60 ml) sugar
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) lemon juice

Direcciones

  1. Poach the figs in sufficient simmering water to cover for 30 min.
  2. Remove the figs, reserving the cooking liquid. Cut a slit in the figs and stuff with the minced walnuts. Meanwhile, dissolve the sugar in the cooking liquid and boil for 2 min. Remove from the heat and stir in the lemon juice. Pour the syrup over the figs and serve hot, chilled, or possibly at room temperature.
  3. Serves 4 to 6.
