Ingredientes

  • 4 x loin pork chops, 1" thick trimmed of fat
  • 1 Tbsp. corn oil
  • 1/4 stk butter
  • 2 x onions sliced
  • 1 x garlic clove crushed
  • 2 sm cooking apples peeled, cored,
  •     and sliced
  • 1 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
  • 1 c. apple cider
  • 1 Tbsp. honey
  • 1 Tbsp. brandy (optional)
  • 1 tsp minced fresh thyme
  • 1/4 c. heavy cream
  •     Salt to taste
  •     Freshly-grnd black pepper to taste

Direcciones

  1. Cook chops in the oil in a skillet over a moderately-high heat for 3 min each side. Transfer to a casserole dish. Add in half the butter to the skillet, and cook onions and garlic over a moderate heat for 3 min. Transfer to casserole dish. Cook apple slices in a skillet for 1 minute each side and add in to casserole.
  2. Heat remaining butter, stir in the flour, and cook for a few seconds in the skillet. Stir in the cider, honey, and brandy, if using. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Season to taste. Add in to the casserole with the thyme. Cover and bake in a preheated oven, 375 degrees, for 35 min. Skim off the surface fat, and stir in the cream. Adjust seasoning to taste and serve.
